by Espresso i mean the UI itself... it's a variation of Sense UI that's exclusive to T-Mobile's myTouch 3G (aka HTC Magic)... i still prefer the original one aka Rosie...

delete partation, run recovery console and WIPE lor or just format using windows diskpart

I don't think there's an illegal way to upgrade your Hero, unless you force someone at knife point to upgrade for you for free.
 Seriously though I couldn't be arsed to wait for the official update to come to Malaysian shores, so I just flashed the rooted Taiwan 2.1 version. |

I've been using it for about a week or so, no problems. In fact I find it much faster and responsive than 1.5. WiFi, AGPS, BlueTooth, Mobile connectivity all work without problems. |
