Actually its not that laggy. Its the same like any Symbian s60v5 phone. Of course its not that smooth as iphone. But what people mean when they say lag is that the X6 will every now and then "freeze" for a brief moment. I think its something got to do with the capacitive touch screen.
But anyway I am looking forward to Symbian^3 which is supposed to be iPhone OS 3 & Android's rival. But not sure if it will be made available for backdated phone like the X6 by then |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Mar 2 2010, 10:50 PM) Basically new version of Symbian that will be used in upcoming phones. There is also Symbian^4.But according to early reviews,s^4 isn't that impressive. OLOL...do u mean the video of the symbian^4 floating around the internet rite now? Symbian S60v5 belong in Symbian^1 family. Anyway as I am saying just now, the videos is just a concept. Period BTW if im not mistaken, Symbian^3 need hardware- accelerated graphics for its UI...I doubt that X6 which didn't have any graphic accelerating hardware will be getting Symbian^3 Just my 2 cent |

for me its not too bad a lag.
I usually hv these three apps open - Gravity open (if u tweet alot, BUY this app, its so worth it) - Opera Mobile, not the Opera Mini, i dont quite like that. Get the Opera Mobile for symbian - Slick ~ for YM All in all, im actually quite happy with the phone, except 1) Hate the bloaty software Nokia has used even since the very beginning with their PC suite. 2) Cant charge while with USB cable The rest, I am very satisfied with - Music - Headphones - GPS - Photos Added on March 3, 2010, 3:03 amThe CWM is much cheaper than itunes which is something like $0.69, $0.99 and $1.29 per song (again, not too sure about this info, am not an apple user). at USD 0.69 = RM 2.21, assuming the CWM is worth RM600, thats like almost 300 songs. I dont know about u, but with the CWM, I download on a per-album-basis. For my fav artists, i download the whole discography. Again assuming 1 album has 12 songs, thats like slightly less than 25 albums to download. All of which on CWM, I can download in a few days. The problem is, its DRM protected. The issue should not be the price, i think 1 yr unlimited download is worth it. For me, personally, the issue is why only 1 pc and one device. Most people now I think use at least 1 device and 2 diff PCs (home/laptop or home/office). This post has been edited by IcedNyior: Mar 3 2010, 03:03 AM |

Not sure how you guys use the phone but I didn't find any major problem with the phone. Yea, can't deny that the memory management still awful currently, but it has been improved via v12 (http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/11117_The_Nokia_X6s_v12_Firmware_let.php), and who doesn't become beta tester when it comes to Nokia phone? Give it some time to get the good firmware, like V40 in 5800 ... Now everyone are happy with it isn't? Some more 5800 got custom rom, make it even more stable and functional, I believe it will happen on X6 as well.
As for CMW, as IcedNyior mentioned, it totally worthy if you see it in that way. I have currently more than 1000 songs downloaded, and it already cost more than the phone itself if based on the $0.69 price-per-song. What's more you can just eat-all-you-can; try out any songs you like by just downloading them and delete at your will. I admit transferring via Ovi Player do take some time, but I believe it will get improved in the near future, and of course I think the speed is due to the software always attempt to insert license for each individual DRM-ed song. All in all, it doesn't sound so bad to get X6 afterall, even though the current firmware doesn't make the most out of it, but I believe it will in the future. Of course, you can opt for the 16GB version and subscribe to Digi unlimited Music which is RM5 per month, you can't really get as much songs as in CWM, but it does have tons of latest songs for you to download, which is of course DRM protected. :\ |

I download thousands of songs, and still counting. Though I like the unlimited downloads of songs, one problem is the license. Whenever the license file is corrupted on your computer or phone, you can't play the files unless you re-acquire the license again from the internet. Imagine you thought you could play the songs on your phone while you travel, then suddenly it needs to re-acquire the license files over the internet. When you don't have any internet access, then that's it! no more music on the go!
This is what I dislike about DRM. |
