QUOTE(benblitz @ Apr 2 2010, 09:51 PM) Hey guys, I figured this should go to bb discussion, sorry for the insanely newbie question. I started bb almost a month ago. After going through various beginners bb article off of the net, I trained myself as the following: Upperbody workout during monday, wednesday and friday. And Saturday for abs. Yes, I take whey protein, supplement and all. But not creatin and protein bar. I figured I wouldn't need them in the beginning. Focus on hypertrophy now. Beginner's split is over. Add in more volume. Volume is the key word here for growth. Start having separate days for each bodypart. However, I'm noticing less muscle pain nowadays, is it normal? I tried to lengthen my workout but the result is still the same. I no longer feel the delightful burning sensation. Just slightly or none at all. I appreciate your help. |

QUOTE(JonYeap @ Apr 3 2010, 01:05 AM) darkie, wat if i do chest, back, shoulder, tricep and biceps in same day? lets say 1.5 hours. Bad, no way. Unless you're doing circuit training. 3 workouts for each bodypart, 3 sets x10. with 1 min rest in between? can i do so? QUOTE(yeeck @ Apr 3 2010, 05:05 PM) Chest and back are the 2 major body parts....same day same session?....hmm.... I usually split these two apart... Yeap. |

QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Apr 4 2010, 10:45 AM) Guys, I'm also in the cutting phase now until the end of April. Targetting single digit body fat if possible. If not, maybe try to go to 12%. i am 63.5kg now My problem is, how much carb do I need to take a day ? When do I take it ? Do I need carb pre workout to prevent muscle loss and after workout to replenish the glycogen ? Is that the only time I can eat the carb ? . Bro.... why..... are......you..... in cutting phase when you are 63.5kg? I'm sorry no offense meant though. Maybe you have a small bone structure or something. |

Wtf why do you guys need to call it a gathering? When i met with Jon and Florian, wasn't called a gathering. Neither was when i met with angrydog, etc. Don't make it sound so formal. 2-3 people are fine. Lol. It's called chilling out for a drink.

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Apr 5 2010, 07:32 PM) Lol, you know, the guy keeps telling me that he's not afraid of me even though I'm bigger/stronger bla bla. Man... i don't even give a shit. The fact that he has to use THOSE points as a basis for his arguments already betrays his insecurity about his own body. I don't hate him, but I love flaming him for fun. LOL.QUOTE(chiakm @ Apr 5 2010, 08:02 PM) Guys, i started feeling pain in my left shoulder joint for my bench presses (both barbell and dumbbell)recently after i started increasing the weight. It hurts especially when i'm doing dumbbell presses though. Go see a sports physician or an orthopaedician. In the mean time go for machines.I once dislocated that left shoulder when i was really small. Would it have anything to do with the pain i'm feeling? Should i change the type of exercise that i'm doing? Need advice. Thanks a lot. This post has been edited by darklight79: Apr 5 2010, 08:37 PM |

QUOTE(SticH @ Apr 5 2010, 09:06 PM) Hello guys, is this dude doing barbell row correctly? It's like 90 degree and I think it stress his backbone a lot. Very misleading article. The author shouldn't have put barbell rows there. It's a Pendlay row, which isn't optimal for hypertrophy, but good for explosive strength.http://stronglifts.com/how-to-perform-the-...oper-technique/ |

For mass, definitely the conventional barbell rows. Not much TUT in Pendlay.

QUOTE(SticH @ Apr 5 2010, 09:36 PM) It does not need to hit any part of the body to complete a rep eg chest/abs ? I've been doing that today but it constantly hit my shin when I lift/drop them , cant manage to hit any part of my body though Make sure you bend over properly, like you're about to get screwed in the ass, seriously. The lift has to be done explosively ramming the barbell to your lower abs and letting it go down in a smooth controlled motion, but you don't drop it to the floor like Pendlay rows. |

QUOTE(pizzaboy @ Apr 6 2010, 01:37 PM) I'm just saying, that I don't see much of a point in going too high repetitions in all these bodyweight exercises. They provide a good pump, but if you're aiming for muscle growth (as we're in a bb section), you'd want to get more tear and the amount of tear that high repetitions with a set amount of weight, is only that much. Research more before you start posting about your knowledge in bodybuilding. High reps have their place in hypertrophy, regardless of them being bodyweight exercises or not. And are in the bodybuilding thread, a good pump is what we bodybuilders try to achieve. Read more into fascia tearing. If Terry were reading this it'd be really embarrassing. And he does surf this section miscellaneously, trust me. |

Glad I could help.i copied ur old exercise for chest and went heavy i.e. did 5x10 and played till fail of course poundages arent as big as yours but i think after workout i cant move my right arm cuz sakit and now im demam and took MC HAHAHAHAHAHA... but so long never did heavy, made some PR's although it wasnt my intention QUOTE(pizzaboy @ Apr 7 2010, 10:50 AM) Cool. Good to know. So bodyweight exercises at high repetitions are good for muscle growth? High repetitions have their place in a bodybuilder's arsenal of tools to achieve hypertrophy. Which is why we vary rep ranges during workouts to ensure all muscle fibre types are targeted. Training heavy all the time can be counter productive because muscular strength progresses faster than joint strength. Which is why the pump is more important than the poundage. We don't always increase weight every workout:HI terry! I'll pop by your gym one of these days! This post has been edited by darklight79: Apr 7 2010, 01:32 PM |
