QUOTE(gtoforce @ Apr 23 2010, 03:01 PM) That's cardio la. QUOTE(gtoforce @ Apr 23 2010, 04:20 PM) Added on April 23, 2010, 4:23 pmhey darklite, i may need some help in partials cuz they say doing partials' really good at breaking the plateau plus it inhibits further injury when doing lcokouts here'are some articles on partials and some dissidents to the principle Ultimate Result with Partials Dissidents Don Alessi on Partials however, what i experience is that, after looking at your dumbbell shoulder press video u posted along with nick's bb bench press (of which u all did partials), i followed the same but cannot go heavier (but of course i can do full form and the pump from the shoulder press prevented my chest workout the next day but how do i know if i'll ever break over from plateauing eh? be wary though some vids in the bb.com page is not partials but rather full lockouts QUOTE(MikeThePickle;344829571) http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=935743 It basically means, you have lifted heavy for so long your muscles adapt to the repetitive intense fatiguing of the muscle. Deloading, or deconditioning, calls for training at 60-80% of weight, but remain at 100% intensity. I believe this is why I have plateu'd so hard for so long...After training heavy for almost a year, I have tried various exercises and changed my diet but to no avail, I am still plateu'd. QUOTE(Pro Bob Chick;345580201) Hitting a plateau is as common as it gets...I'm not sure about this "deloading" stuff...100% intensity is just that....100%. All you're really doing is lessening the weight....if you're adding more reps to compensate and get to "100% intensity"...then all you're doing is changing up the routine. TIME...is what gets you out of a plateau See how simple pros make it? A few lines instead of linking tons of articles to periodizing and deloading crap or specific rep and set schemes with chains, bands and shit. Lol. Heh.... I didn't even bother to read the links you posted. No offense intended bro. I've been keeping it simple all this while and from the videos i posted you can see it works. And most of the good advice I get are from the threads made by IFBB pros, not the average trainee at bb.com.
Why fix it if it's still working right? |

QUOTE(gtoforce @ Apr 23 2010, 05:06 PM) i agree with what ur saying and thats what i've been doing I didn't criticize you bro. I just said, keep it short and simple. =) If you want good bench form for partials, angrydog's vid. Good shoulder press for partials form, my vid. I'll say though, partials are a LOT harder than locking out. I'm gonna try db pressing the 90's next week. 85's seemed kinda easy. Surprised i hit 12 reps.then again i started this partials thingy and also focusing on hypertrophy baru lagi... last time mindset caught with many many styles that i just feel bored to focus on too many things at a time cuma sometimes demotivated also sebab u always feel like ur not improving in that department kene patient la kot Added on April 23, 2010, 5:08 pm no problem linking the whatever i posted tu directed me to some answers what i take criticisms positively anyway if it comes right |

John, that youtube video of the guy you posted. Do you know that you're much bigger than him? All he is, is ripped. Put him next to you in the off season and I'll bet you my left nut you can hold your own. I've been to Stadium Titiwangsa to watch a bb comp before. Only when you're standing in front of guys within the <90kg category it's time to be freaking impressed. There are a lot of people within the spectators who're more impressive than the competitors.
Meeting Wong Hong, Terry, Sazali and Zetri in person, that I'm impressed. This post has been edited by darklight79: Apr 23 2010, 08:56 PM |

QUOTE(John91 @ Apr 23 2010, 09:57 PM) Shizz you overestimate me. But you get me really hyped up about competing tho. Never tried cutting before. Only plan to do so a month's before the comp. If I join... You underestimate yourself. If you get to meet the Youtube fella, both of you wear T-shirts and stand next to each other and see. =P You seriously wanna compete now? Why don't you keep packing on mass first? |

QUOTE(John91 @ Apr 23 2010, 10:11 PM) Next year is my last year being able to qualify for juniors. I thought of joining this year for exposure. Wildcat wants to meet me there anyway haha. I wanna at least get 3rd next year. But aim for 1st of course lol. I'm packing mass on now desperately. Hoping to get to at least 90kg by June. The guy's kinda big for his height (from the video and his facebook pictures). Bodybuilding = about illusion. =) Well you can try. Good exposure I guess. |

Yes.QUOTE(-Dan @ Apr 24 2010, 11:32 PM) Try Yes.Chest and biceps Legs and shoulders Back and triceps This way you don't end up training the same muscle groups twice in a row. QUOTE(John91 @ Apr 24 2010, 11:33 PM) Yes. QUOTE(tineagle @ Apr 24 2010, 11:59 PM) Correction, you DO end up hitting same muscles more than once this way.(biceps and triceps; twice) Yes.*edit, oh in a row QUOTE(david890701 @ Apr 25 2010, 12:03 AM) YES. My suggestion is, give a bodypart 6-7 days of rest. Bodybuilding is recovery. Recovery is bodybuilding. No one gets bigger in the gym, they bigger while resting. |
