how bout

vcore: 1.200v
BCLK: 200
multiplier: 18
QPI: set to 2nd lowest speed in MHz

Leave the rest on auto.

Try at your own risk. This is my settings for 3.6GHz using Maximus III Gene. Could be the same since both yours and mine are Asus mobo.

Try set your

MCH to around 1.35v (do not go over yellow)

if still fail, set your vcore to 1.250

oh ya I forgot to tell you the other basic stuff, go into your CPU configuration in BIOS, and disable all settings such as C1E, Intel Virtualization etc. Except "Intel HT" & "Enable all cores" Refer to this image;

Attached Image

This image is just a reference how the bios would look like for the cpu settings, u might have other or dont have certain configurations available on your BIOS, nevertheless, it won't be much different smile.gif As you can see most of the settings are enabled by default... and you are gonna disable em

also "CPU spectrum" : Disabled/Off

Yeah if possible dont go over the red, for me I have normal-yellow-red risk level indicator, 1.35 is still normal for me...

yellow is okay but not recommended, try 1.25 then if not increase to 1.3

This is what i got after overclocking tongue.gif

IMC i set to about 1.16xx V ( below yellow value )
V core 1.2V

Do i need to prime it longer to ensure its rock solid stable?

It should be okay if you dont have any crashes or bluescreen. Can you lower your voltage further? I am not really "pro" about the new clarkdales but i think you can lower your voltage a tad bit. Is speedfan accurate or what? You are getting 37C running prime? What is your cooler?

2 hours should be ok already... for the prime, as per RattleSnake suggestion you might want to try lower your voltages for a bit, thats if your current OC has proven stable 1st.

You might also try LinX 20 runs

My cooler is CM tx-3. The real temp is actually the 51 C one. My room kinda hot tongue.gif Btw, i realised my ram speed is lower compared to before? Should i increase its clock? Thanks

Added on May 2, 2010, 11:39 pmSettled at 1.15V...1.1V failed to boot windows sweat.gif

Of course the ram will match the appropriate ratio, which in your case is lowest due to increase in BCLK. You can change the ram ratio. But the problem is you wont get 1333, the higher value than your current speed would be 1600 I suppose, so if you want to overclock your ram... It's up to you. Do note the risk of doing so biggrin.gif

You might want to consider performance ddr3 later, for more headroom in overclocking smile.gif

I was trying to overclock Intel i3 530 too but i dont dare to overclock it to 4.4Ghz as i dont hav any chassis fan.Might do 3.6Ghz.I am using Gigabyte motherboard.

How to tune the voltage?Cpu voltage = Cpu Vcore?

And yea,to get 3.6Ghz,must i set the multiplier to 22x and Bus Speed to 164Mhz?Can i do it with multiplier 20x and Bus Speed 180Mhz?

How long should i stress test using Prime95?Some say 2 hours is sufficient as more hours will harm the hardwares. But some says 24 hours as the overclocking might get unstable.Btw,how do i know whether the stress test is successful anot?If failed, the pc will reboot?

better cpu cooler is much more important then chassis fan.
u can do by any multiplier that allow you to set, combined with bus speed to get your desire clock.
for a stable overclock, stress it with prime 95 with max ram set, and run it from 2 - 8 hours.
