89C sweat.gif Would not even dare to reach that temperature. However , is my temp safe in the long run?

Well..i was doing stress test using Intel burn test. It's stated there if u stress test using intel burn test, the temperature will go 22 celcius higher than normal.Plus my room's ceiling fan not working tat time..XD Intel processor can withstand temperature up to 100+ celcius although it's highly not recommended!

Erm 70 celcius should be ok i guess. From wat i heard,it's very rare for a processor to be killed by temperature. But of course, the temperature should be keep as low as possible.U might add in a cheap CPU cooler. My current laptop, due to unknown reason, the fan is not working and the temperature during idle is around 70 celcius.100% word load will result in 90 Celcius...really can burn my balls tongue.gif

I hope to get a CPU cooler soon so tat i could OC it to 4.2 Ghz.Cant do it now with juz only the CPU stock cooler coz the temperature will rack up very high XD

Guys,
I have a question here:
When i run my processor at 3600mhz (200x18) , my rams are able to clock at 1600mhz. But when i overclock it to 4ghz ( 182x22 ) , the rams are able to run at 1092mhz but not 14xxmhz  sweat.gif  Any ideas? Do i need to pump more voltage to my mobo / rams? My ram voltage is stock btw. Secondly, is the processor safe to be run at 1.275V @ 70C max? Thanks..
*
Did u set the DRAM voltage manually or auto?

I guess you could try set the DRAM voltage to as much as when u oc the ram to 1600mhz and see if it boots. Then you try drop the voltages. It's possible that your ram need more voltage to run at 14xx.

Rams were running stock voltages when i ran it @ DDR1600..Just wonder why @ 4ghz the rams are not even able to achieve 1400mhz. Is it due to the mobo not able to supply enough power?

ram uses very low power, 1w - 2w only for each stick, so it should not be the ram problem..
it might be your mobo are not able to efficiently handle this ram divider?

Could be the problem..my rams are value rams and my mobo is cheap Asus one laugh.gif Anyway, ill try pumping some voltage to my chipset and see what happens..

Added on May 25, 2010, 5:06 pmOh yeah, i think i will go for dual fan setup for my cpu HSF. Gotta fix a fan to blow the rams too rclxms.gif

According to Overclocking Intel i3

the most efficient clock rate for Intel i3 is 4.2Ghz.Haha i can c the difference with the extra CPU cooler and without.Urs with 4.18Ghz but only 68 Celcius while mine 3.6Ghz but 70 Celcius.I think i really need the CPU cooler.

I realised that there is a difference in temperature when tested using LinX and Prime95. Using LinX , the temp was higher.

Oh, just realised that tongue.gif . Btw, those temps are the maximum that i will get right? How about during gaming like Crysis etc? Will the temp be lower than the benchmark temperature?

Yes,in gaming, your temperature is no where near IBT temperature

based on that article for p55 UD7, what is "Bios Vcore" shows on the overclocking table? do you have it on p55 ud6? and what is your current or default skew for both pch/mch? and also clock amplitude?

No,it's not written clearly.I assume that the Cpuz Vt Load is the maximum voltage needed for the CPU.So i put tat as my baseline and stress test shows tat it's stable. As for the skew part,i leave it by default

bios vcore should be how many vcore added in bios, there are 2 option to add vcore in ud6, one is direct set the vcore u desire, another one is add from your stock vcore, i guess he use the second method.

Yea i guess so since u hav stress tested it and it shows stability. The temperature is ok too.

The temp is fine..Btw, you should stress your comp using Prime 95 also..Passing LinX doesnt mean you will pass Prime95

Indeed. But then 8 minutes of Intel Burn Test or Linx is like 20 hours of Prime 95.For safety measure, run both laugh.gif

This statement is not true anymore, linx might be accurate to test the vcore of the processor, but not the whole system like ram, qpi etc..
