I had just realized that my i5 750 system is not even stable at stock speed with nothing else overclocked. sad.gif rclxub.gif
Bios settings : Vcore=1.25V, Vtt=1.1V, PCH=1.05V, VDDR3=1.5V
*turbo on, c1e & speedstep enabled.

All set to default, it doesn't even pass occt 3.1.0, prime95, IBT v2.4, or superpi @ 2.66GHz stock speed. If it passes, it was just lucky. The vcore reading was 1.184V during load (4 cores turbo @ 2.8GHz) and max temp was 57'C on all the tests. There's no BSOD or system reboot though.

With IBT v2.4, it failed in 10 & 20 loops.
Seems like this proc is having a problem lah. My rig spec is as in my sig below.

You sure your ram rated voltage is 1.5V? Is it Mushkin HP3 10666?

@ezzydamvp

Bro based on your siggy, how do you get CL7 for Team Xtreem 1600, because mine stuck at CL8, CPU-Z & Everest shows that, however when I go back to BIOS clearly it was configured at CL7. Another thing does your ROG post screen kinda corrupted when using higher QPI say 3600-4400? Because mine is liek rclxub.gif when using high QPI, had to disable the ROG post screen

u need a really good mobo and a really good proc to do that.

and the vtt and vcore would cause so much heat that u need a really good cooling solution to keep it stable.

It seems I can't go more than 1.5 VTT... Can't boot, I just can do 4.05GHz 225x18 at 1.45 vtt & 1.4 vcore. Prime blend stable. Trying to lower em voltages. Any recommendation on good mobo that can pull off that 250 bclk trick? And what is the suggested QPI when running 225 bclk? I just pick the lowest currently.

How about the temps? biggrin.gif Maybe it's too hot? laugh.gif

I just do 4Ghz, load 65'c only smile.gif But the ram can't do 2000 even with CL11, I dont want to bump the voltage, risky rather get Dominator GT DDR2000 CL7 and then O/C till 2133 CL9? Well about the temp, maybe if you sponsor me something icon_idea.gif I could do 4.5 brows.gif

On top of that this poor ram having problem running 1900 9-9-9-24 1.65, memtest 4.00 5-6 passes but prime95 blend will fail in 5-10 minutes or if lucky 20 minutes. Fatal error rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4. cry.gif

RAM or temperature?

I dont know I need 1.7v to play

1866 8-7-8-22 1T

or

1900 9-9-9-24 2T

I wouldn't dare raise higher. Although this kit is CMT, latest revision hardly die... but I just dont wanna spend $$$ anymore if anything sad.gif

mine was also new CMG kits, it dont clock as well as old TR, it need higher vdimm to do same clock as TR.
but the best thing was it dont die easily sweat.gif

I need to pull out the stick, not sure which... currently doing prime blend sad.gif

Actually new revision is not for extreme overclocking anymore unlike TR3...

That is why I changed from H50 to Venomous X, The H50 is just good for the compact design, and cool enough to cool moderate OC. I'm just using i3, the temp is insane for me at 4GHz, 75'c prime blend. Maybe if the pair of tubes are long enough to take intake from the front, it might get cooler. Changing to heatsink rewarded me generously 10'c cooler

Hmm I did try positioning the inlet-outlet up/down, but not much difference, and for me positioning it on top, did lower the temperature hmm.gif

how bout

vcore: 1.200v
BCLK: 200
multiplier: 18
QPI: set to 2nd lowest speed in MHz

Leave the rest on auto.

Try at your own risk. This is my settings for 3.6GHz using Maximus III Gene. Could be the same since both yours and mine are Asus mobo.

Try set your

MCH to around 1.35v (do not go over yellow)

if still fail, set your vcore to 1.250

oh ya I forgot to tell you the other basic stuff, go into your CPU configuration in BIOS, and disable all settings such as C1E, Intel Virtualization etc. Except "Intel HT" & "Enable all cores" Refer to this image;

Attached Image

This image is just a reference how the bios would look like for the cpu settings, u might have other or dont have certain configurations available on your BIOS, nevertheless, it won't be much different smile.gif As you can see most of the settings are enabled by default... and you are gonna disable em

also "CPU spectrum" : Disabled/Off
