i think wenger will decide whether to buy a player or not after this saturday's match against MU..
if we didn't play well in that match, hopefully he'll use the remaining 2 days to buy a player before september.
if we played well, he will keep quiet and remain with this squad smile.gif

but this saturday playing with fab, nasri and maybe rosicky will be a huge test for us to play without the seniors smile.gif
if we can still play well then i think wenger is right..

Cesc's hammie scan results are out and thank god there is no signs of strain. Will miss Celtic for sure but could be fit for Man Utd.

Fabregas to miss Wednesday night’s clash

Cesc Fabregas will not face Celtic on Wednesday night.

The Arsenal captain picked up a hamstring strain against Portsmouth on Saturday and was withdrawn at half-time. Fabregas underwent a scan on the injured muscle on Tuesday morning.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Arsène Wenger described the scan results as "reassuring" but confirmed he will miss Wednesday night's clash.

"From last Saturday we lost Cesc Fabregas who did not train today" the manager said.

"His scan was quite reassuring as he has no muscular strain but it will take a few days to settle down.

"There's a chance he'll be fit for Old Trafford."

I think AW is in dilemma now... his youth policy is noble and financially sound but he may have missed out the expectation and patience, not only from the fans but also the PLAYERS. In the end, AW has to alter his policy and inject good players from time to time (but NOT as aggressive as others) to balance up the players gap and competitiveness.

That's why we got Arshavin biggrin.gif

agree with u bro.I think AW started to hesitate. He even set a deadline whether his plan works or not

Arsenal revive interest in St Etienne star Blaise Matuidi[SIZE=7]
QUOTE
Arsene Wenger has made a fresh move for St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi after fearing Cesc Fabregas is facing an injury lay-off.

Arsenal captain Fabregas, 22, faces a race to be fit for Saturday's trip to Manchester United and could be out for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury.

That has brought it home to Wenger that he needs to strengthen his squad and has gone back for long-term target Matuidi.

Gunners boss Wenger is keen to strengthen his central midfield and defence and still expects to offload Philippe Senderos before the window shuts with Everton still interested.

Wenger has already had lengthy discussions with St Etienne and 22-year-old Matuidi over a move to Arsenal.

St Etienne are demanding £6m while Arsenal want to pay half that figure and are prepared to take the deal right to the wire in the transfer window to drive a hard bargain.

France Under-21 starlet Matuidi, a holding midfielder, would jump at the chance of moving to Arsenal and is hopeful a deal can be completed.

Wenger has already revealed that he still has not given up on signing former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira, 33, from Inter Milan.

Arsenal will also have money to spend if they progress to the Champions League Group stages from tomorrow night’s qualifier with Celtic.

That could see them go back for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh who has already snubbed West Ham in the hope Arsenal are still interested, otherwise he will stay put.

Is this the defensive player Wenger meant? I still favour our unbeaten captain

I wonder if Cesc were to be breathing in pure oxygen would that help? I remember Rooney or Beckham was injured once and he went through that treatment to make him heal faster. Any ideas? unsure.gif

It seems at every one is very concern about Cesc injury. I guess it might be a mind game from AW. To be frank I see Cesc in the Starting Line-up against Man Utd already. smile.gif

Let's not think about the Man U game 1st. They still have one very important match to go before that! Let's no be carried away! The ball is round.

Wenger - I've made no move for Matuidi

By Richard Clarke

Arsène Wenger has NOT made a move for Blaise Matuidi.

Tuesday morning’s media suggested the Arsenal manager had revived his interest in the St Etienne midfielder. But at a press conference a few hours later Wenger could not have been more blunt about the speculation. In fact, despite the approaching transfer deadline, the Frenchman said he was not near to bringing in anyone.

“I deny that,” he said pointedly when asked about Matuidi. “The only thing I can tell you is that at the moment we are not close to signing anybody. We have still one week."

I will take Matuidi over the current Vieira any second of any minute of everyday of every month of every year. I don't know why people want to bring Vieira back. He is well past it. Physically knackered and his legs have all but gone. Everyone talks about how valuable his experience will be on the pitch. You can have all the experience in the world but if the body no longer has the capacity to follow what the mind says its practically useless. I'm sorry even though I love Vieira to bits the current Vieira will just be a waste of space on our team sheet. If people want to bring him back for the purpose of passing on his experience and being a mentor to the young guns my as well hire him as a coach then and I'm absolutely fine with that.

Besides bringing him back will take up a spot on the squad list and this will deprive the likes of Ramsey and Merida further chances. Also what message does bringing back Vieira send to everyone ? It shows that the team have not moved any forward at all from the Invincibles era. It shows we are still very much living in the past. Moreover, football doesn't always end with a fairy tale. If he does make a return and succeed fair enough. If he flops, well you already know how unforgiving our fans can be when it comes to performances on the field and I'm sure not only me but all Gooners alike will hate to see one of our legends stain his legacy at the club just like that. You can do a million good things in your life and people may still forget them but do one bad thing and people will remember for life.

Seriously I'm sure Arsene knows all of this and it seems pretty obvious to me that all talk about Vieira returning are all just media bullsh*t as usual. I've rarely criticized the Boss in all my 12 seasons as an Arsenal fan and if Arsene does go back for Vieira I'm afraid he has lost the plot and I'll be very, very surprised and disappointed at the same time.
