young players are always young... if we lose big (touchwood) this weekend against Man U... i doubt we will easily bounce back... its same old song all over again from seasons to seasons before this.. AW is keeping faith for Wilshire to play regularly... if we still end up trophyless... current crop of players will surely leave and there are gonna leave more voids to fill in... and then AW just gonna say the same old things like he did in the interview wif another good future prospect youngsters coming up so he ain't gonna buy first......again... on and on and on...

I think AW is in dilemma now... his youth policy is noble and financially sound but he may have missed out the expectation and patience, not only from the fans but also the PLAYERS. In the end, AW has to alter his policy and inject good players from time to time (but NOT as aggressive as others) to balance up the players gap and competitiveness. That's why we got Arshavin This post has been edited by kimhoong: Aug 25 2009, 02:05 PM

I believe in the recent years, ManU has always spoiled the party for Arsenal. It's been a huge and demanding task for the young team to go against ManU but seriously this year I feel that with the improvement in the squad, we have something to defeat them. The belief and confidence is high in the changing room and I'm confident of another great match results against Celtic tonight.
I'm hoping that the boys will keep it up and build on their mental strength which will be vital in this year's BPL.

true mu has spoilt the party for us many times lately, thats why this saturday its time for revenge! they lost ronaldo and tevez( yeah i know we lost players too...) so its probably the best time to beat them. if cesc is back, i think we have a better chance.

Hmm. Playing on Thursday morning might not be advantageous for us for sure since there will be a match on Saturday. Hopefully there won't be any new injuries for us. I hope Cesc will be rested for the big game!

QUOTE(meaj @ Aug 24 2009, 02:23 PM) Maybe AW will make some last minute shopping like last time with Arshavin. I stayed up until the window closed. Those who followed the progress in the closing hours of transfer window that time may remember what a drama it was trying to sign Arshavin. Ya, Arshavin signing was a drama. Wonder who will it be this time - Marouane Chamakh?

It seems that our captain might not be playing this weekend. A bit worrying right? Fabregas a serious doubt for United clash

That was the first time I ever followed the transfer market in the dying hours of the transfer window. It was definitely worth it. If I'm not mistaken the Berbatov to Man U saga was during the same time too. As for Chamakh, I think Wenger has made it clear that his not looking to improve the offensive department this time around. QUOTE(joeroxworld @ Aug 25 2009, 02:39 PM) Trust me AW wont sign anyone untill january. Hmmm we never know. Gilles Grimandi might have found someone.

i thought berbatov was at the last minute of the august one? Arshavin's in January.. a drama indeed...with Zenit holding back for the loyalty bonus and stuffs.. Dont really fancy this weekend's tie as a revenge but i see it as rather just another game for us... it can be decisive as it shows how much we wanted to prove the critics wrong and how ambitious we really are... Added on August 25, 2009, 4:08 pmSong pleased with Gunners' new formation» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Arsenal defender Alex Song has credited this season's strong start to the new formation implemented by Arsène Wenger. The manager trialled the new system in pre-season, and it has so far proved successful with the Gunners scoring 12 goals in three games. “When we came back and played our first game the boss asked us to play in this formation,” he said. “In the Everton and Celtic games everyone’s been very happy with the situation because we’ve played very well – we’ve passed the ball just as people expect Arsenal to, but when we’ve lost the ball you can see that everyone has been closing it down so quickly. “In that aspect I think we’ve improved a lot – maybe we didn’t do it so well last season, but in these two games I’ve seen everyone want the ball when we have it and everyone pressuring it hard when we don’t. “We’re feeling confident because we’re playing well and still have Theo to come back, Tomas as well. “We have a good team and a good squad, and this year it is very important for everyone that we do something.” The 4-3-3 line-up has seen Song start the season in a holding midfield role, a position to which the Cameroon international has adapted well. “I am the first defender in the midfield, if you like,” he said. “That means Cesc and Denilson can push forward a little more. I’ll stay in the middle so that I can stop counter-attacks and close passes down. “But we see also that when the other guys lose the ball they come back immediately to help out too. I like playing in this position and just want to keep trying to do my best all the time, helping the team to move upwards.” I like what i read This post has been edited by nLz | Lanpakali: Aug 25 2009, 04:09 PM

More of proving ourselves worthy of being a main contender for the league. Our time is now.

got this from arseblog, makes sense abt cesc's injury QUOTE The Mail is reporting that he's going to be out for three weeks, which would see him miss the United game, but we'll have to just wait and see. Most of what you read in the Mail should be taken with a hefty pinch of salt. The difficulty is that after the United game we head into a pesky Interlull and if we manage to get him through that game there's no chance for him to rest. Spain will be quite within their rights to call him up.
Arsene may have to think a bit beyond United in terms of this one. If he declares him injured it'll mean Cesc can avoid international duty and recover properly before the visit to the other, richer, part of Manchester on September 12th. I have to think the manager will err on the side of caution here. It's early in the season and we'd be better off ensuring he's fully fit and ready for the rest of the campaign instead of trying to nurse him through an injury which could get worse. he got it quite right. maybe its for the best we let cesc not play. if he goes to spain, who knows what alonso might do this time?

that's why i say it's better to lose Cesc now for 3 weeks, than losing him for 3 months. international is coming next week. if we declare Cesc injured, he won't be pick. that'll allow him another week to rest, and just before Man Citeh, 50-50 chances.

No matter how much he loves Arsenal, I don't think Cesc would conspire with Arsene against his own country. Playing for his country must means something to him as well. I think he's just really injured. But if Arsene thinking ahead, convinces Cesc that he's sick is a different story Nah, don't worry much about Cesc not playing against MU. We can cope.
