QUOTE(iGamer @ May 17 2016, 10:29 PM) I have very bad experience with blu-Ray players. My first Philips BDP3200 broken only after 1 year, it was not even used frequently. Then my second bluray player Samsung BD-F5500K after about one year cannot read most 3D movie disk So far I dare not buy another bluray player as my brother also have similar bad experience with his bluray player, they just doesn't seem to last What's your experience with your existing players? Mine also play less than 20 Blu Ray disc already kaput.

D So, only OPPO brand bluray has better reliability? To me, DVD players doesn't seem to broke so easily, perhaps some sensitivity issue but bluray player outright ridiculous

There's the BOE brand and another unbranded 4in1 player commonly found on lelong.com? Then there's that HongKong Video brand which is also cinavia free......

QUOTE(sonerin @ May 18 2016, 01:02 PM) Seems like digital movie collection is the way to go. No broken player or broken disc, also more compatibility for future equipment, just need the online streaming box or video media player or just a smart tv.

While browsing some *ahem* movies in a shop, saw this BOE Cinavia free player over the counter, bought from them at RM420.00 (Non 3D version), with 3D will cost additional RM100.00. Set it up once I reached home and happily watching all my movies without hiccups.

QUOTE(Xccess @ May 18 2016, 09:58 PM) Cinavia is actually not that big a concern as most movie does not contain cinavia except the few movies produced by Sony. The "presumably" better compatibility with ahem disk is those brand-less player's main appeal. However it's worth mentioning that you get what you pay for with those ahem disk, they are mostly low quality disk that will not last long, a year or so later you may notice "holes" appearing on the disk. Nowadays my desire for HD entertainment comes from Axtro HD channel and occasionally online download, I'm fed up with those cheap disk and the hassle and frustration to "change disk"..... From the days from VCD, DVD till today's Bluray disk, the lesson I learnt is that it's pointless to collect movies as they all eventually become junk compared to the ever progressing "higher definition". 4k? 8k....... Never ending...... Just my 2 cents This post has been edited by iGamer: May 19 2016, 08:18 PM

If you have ahem disc, maybe a lot of them already filled with countless holes and become unplayable..... That's what happened to many of my previous collection I love how in the west nowadays the buyer also obtain right to digital copy on the cloud, meaning you can view those movie on any internet connected device (and future devices ) If only Bolehland can move forward where everyone no longer earn peanuts and cannot afford genuine copyrighted goods nobody wants ahem if they can afford good quality goods.
