i plan to buy a bluray ROM for my PC, want to ask is it the quality of the movie will be different if compare with bluray player?
*
Theoritically the ROM drive is a transport. The picture quality will depend on the disc you use and your display card quality

The video processor, the sound processor and all the different brand had different hardware. That definite the quality. There are player that cost 400 to player that cost 4000. You will have to research more into the player that you want.

Do you really can see/hear any different in quality by using cheap and expensive bluray player? I tot as long as the player can support bitstream audio. Then your AVR will handle all the decoding.

The hardware on the player do have some effect quality to audio and especially the video

That should not be the case. You need to check setting on your player. Is it set to pass through ?

The price for oppo 103D plus jailbreak is over 3k so i hesistate to buy now  n wait for 4k player. But for now just mid range player n looking at bdp450 or bdp180 so in between the 2 which one is bang for buck.

450 will be good. Seriously don't worry about 4K, still very long way to go
