Once you hit, 200k, ask the teller to check how much left you can invest. The system actually separate between capital, dividend and bonus. Tha cap 200k is for Capital only. So you may still able to invest more if you hit 200k. Just beware, lots of bank teller may be lazy to properly check the system and just answer mak 200k. I kena before.

Yes the capital is 200K. Ive already got about RM250K in there. Was wondering whether i could increase the capital limit of 200K.

dont worry, the fund size for ASW is RM14bil, sometimes within an hour can have few big withdrawal, bank tellers are just salary earners, they are not able to sapu all the fund that available from time to time. My friend's uncle left his ASW book with one of the bank's teller, and he is able to accumulate 6 digits of units into his ASW account within few months time.

Wow, your friend's uncle might be a very high income earner.. rclxms.gif

Anyway, its true that there would be a few big withdrawal expectable.. laugh.gif

Nah...he is a retirees, instead of letting his $$ sitting in the FD, so he transfer some to the ASW as and when there is an availlability.

True enough, i was told the same, but if u r a new account (less than 1 year) still cannot pump in more money, how far u can go beyond 200K depends on how long u had been maintaining the account....i have come accorss one depositor has > 500K in his ASB account

i dont think so, once u hit the 200K max, only the reinvested dividend can be added on
*
then will the added dividend be compounded as well?

say you already max out 200k, plus the divident lets say 15000, then the next year will the divident calculated at 215,000 or 200,000?

The 200K is the amount invested. It doesnt include the interest earned. So u can keep it forever and the amound can reach even 400-500K. The interest is calculated on the balance available. So if u withdraw then the interest you get will be lesser.
*
oh!
so the dividend will be calculated from 400-500k?
woah, then if 9% divident return can get 45000 free money a year?? sweat.gif

yes the interest is calculated based on your total balance available. But you cant top up more cash once your principle investment reaches 200K. The dividends can continue to increase.

there is no maturity of the AS1M. If their financial year end is 30 Sept, means they will annouce the dividen prior to that and will be credited to your account on 1st Oct, just bring your AS1M passbook to update with any agent on or after 1 Oct.

dont think they will open the bumi quoto to non bumi for AS1M, or else PERKASA will make a big issues...
1 year ago when PNB open unsold AS Malaysia bumi quota to Non bumi, Utusan Melayu already make noise.
If u really want to top up AS1M/ASW/ASM, i will suggest u to try and error with any agent bank that u know well, some tellers are very helpful.

True what you say.... BUT MONEY is more important.... AS1M only 40%++ subscribed of 10 Billion (30% fully by chinese, some 8% by indians & 2% by malays/bumi) still have around 6 Billion++ left.... need to fill that 6 billion..... if my prediction is correct, pnb will announce little bit higher dividend rate for AS1M at maybe around 6.5% - 7% to attract people at the fund. after announce the dividend rate & after credited by 1st OCT, maybe around 5th or 6th OCT pnb announce subscription for remaining unit.... this happen in past few years ago, if you all remember, it started around year 2005 & lasted until year 2008...... i can remember this because in the year 2005 & 2006 (asm & asw2020) i did't get any chance to buy because sold out within 20 - 40 minutes after PNB counter open.... that time no quota ie. 20k per person/week.... thats why finished fast.... still remember the person infront me at maybank took out around rm 120k to invest in asm & after that when my turn came, all asm fund sold out!!!!!!!!!! mad.gif

Right now you can try to ask at the counter on the availability of the AS1M fund at the banks and the other PNB agents.

If you are talking about waiting for the 4th September, for us chinese, we would be waiting for a miracle, because its not much hope..

First, is if the dividend announced were attractive, the next day after the fund had paid the dividend, all the chinese will queue for it, early in the morning..

Secondly, we never know whether the PNB is going to open up some of the other quotas for subscription.. rolleyes.gif
