I expect the dividend to be declared by the mid of September 2010.. Based on the record of the declaration of dividend by their side.. ^^

Added on August 23, 2010, 12:19 pmSeems like some of the people of the public were confused about AS1M; but i am acting as an neutral, but to show what i found:-

1) AS1M objective launched by the Prime Minister was to encourage the citizens to invest their money to increase their asset value..

2) AS1M was also intended to increase the income of the citizens, though not much, but it helps..

3) AS1M is investing in equities, and trust me, even for them to declare dividend of minimum of 6% is not difficult despite their consistent performance..

4) Some of the people think that the Government will use the money for their political policy, but from what i see, it was the intention of PM to increase the income.. Whilst, investment in equity funds by those expert fund managers might contribute more than 15% (conservative projection) returns, so nothing is impossible..

5) Their benchmark of 3.7% to 4% were actually as a conservative target for them to perform better than the benchmark, but many thought the return is low, hm.. next month will prove whether this statement is right or wrong..

6) Capital protection is true.. See PNB is listed in the Bank Negara Malaysia..

still available for CHinese i mean.... ?

Soul2soul, have u have an existing account for AS1M before?

If you have opened before, and now you are an existing accountholder, you might have chance to top up your investment..

I was thinking about trying my best to top up as many as i can before the mid of September, which i expect the dividend will be issued.

When you want to top up, straight away go to the counter/teller, dont ask the front desk become they will confirm to tell you sold out sometimes even if its still available.. ^^

the AS1M fund allocated for chinese is RM3bil, as long as someone sells then u can buy.
Same as for ASW, ASM....
*
Yape, you are right, as long as there is someone selling, there will be opportunity for buying..

But too bad, the banks tellers are the first to know, and they are the first to have the advantage to buy compared to us.. shakehead.gif

dont worry, the fund size for ASW is RM14bil, sometimes within an hour can have few big withdrawal, bank tellers are just salary earners, they are not able to sapu all the fund that available from time to time. My friend's uncle left his ASW book with one of the bank's teller, and he is able to accumulate 6 digits of units into his ASW account within few months time.

Wow, your friend's uncle might be a very high income earner.. rclxms.gif

Anyway, its true that there would be a few big withdrawal expectable.. laugh.gif

hi all, can i buy as1m now? or have to wait till 4th sept as annouced in asnb ?  http://www.asnb.com.my/index.htm
*
Right now you can try to ask at the counter on the availability of the AS1M fund at the banks and the other PNB agents.

If you are talking about waiting for the 4th September, for us chinese, we would be waiting for a miracle, because its not much hope..

First, is if the dividend announced were attractive, the next day after the fund had paid the dividend, all the chinese will queue for it, early in the morning..

Secondly, we never know whether the PNB is going to open up some of the other quotas for subscription.. rolleyes.gif

Oh.. I was thinking about trying my luck again for the Amanah Saham 1Malaysia for the chinese quota, but i was running out of luck because it is sold out already, sold out for good..

Haiz.. now can only hold the investment until the upcoming dividend declaration..

But still fortunate to have put since the World Cup until 25 August, now no chance already...

QUOTE(COMBOConvenience @ Aug 31 2010, 01:38 AM)
I have an opportunity to take up loan frm Bank Rakyat.
Amount 70k, Interest 4.9% 15 years, monthly 675.

I plan to invest in ASB. But i found out that if i do asb loan its LOOK much more cheaper that Bank Rakyat

BLR 6.3%
Maybank (-1.65% if more than 30k) monthly payment 542
Easy RHB (-1%) monthly payment 565.06

Which one is from those 3 option offer more stable investment and most important profitable?

any ideas?
*
The BLR rates are going up consistently, and i think it is carrying risk already, instead of being a very certain option..

However, depends on you to take the risk..

Sorry. Typo error. I meant 'I think if ure gonna take a loan to invest in ASB is NOT worth it'

Agree with this nod.gif .. Over the long term, your investment via loan will be pinched by inflation and increase in the BLR rates, where you feel nothing on your investment return anymore..

This is called 'the minimizing of investment power'.. nod.gif

Hey newbie here.

i am non-bumi.. want to invest in any available AM funds..

Any available now.. ?? Need some stable 6-8% annual return investment..

Any other ideas?
*
The previous Amanah Saham Malaysia, Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 and Amanah Saham 1Malaysia, which are fixed price funds, available for the non-bumi are sold out.

If you want these fixed price funds, you might have to wait for the declaration and announcement of new units offered for sale by ASNB.

Others are price fluctuation ones such as ASN3 and ASG..

hmmm quite surprise that the dividend rate for AS1M is still not announced yet. only about 2 weeks to go before their financial year-end. i would have thought with the stockmarket etc at multi year highs, this would be an opportune time..

perhaps want to wait for tomorrow Hari Malaysia... smile.gif
*
Based on their historical declaration, maybe mostly likely next week, or the 23rd.. ^^

So.. you mean ASN3 and ASG is available? if yes, what the projected returns?
*
Hm... those funds also give consistent returns to the investors.

But from my perspective, my investments does not consider the both of them due to the service charge of 5%..

As an investor who invest heavily, with low personal savings ratio, it might be too risky for me to risk part of my capital when i withdraw it because its more on long term than short term..

If you are thinking about accumulating for long term, i guess ASG offers better, namely 3 funds under ASG..

Those funds should be available at most of the time..

Hope this information could assist you.. nod.gif

in fact nothing special abt the ASG series, u need to pay the 5% service charge still, and I found that private mutual funds equity fund series perform better, if u already hv the pnb's fixed price fund why not u diversify ur investment in equity fund in private company? Some distributor like FSM and cimbclicks offer lower sales charge of around 2% only
*
About the diversification, its really in my mind.. But since AS1M was still available for the chinese, it would be my focus at the moment..

It could be almost time for me to invest via FSM, and CIMBClicks already.. EUnit Trust also will be one of my portal.. ^^

Yes it is announced on TV3 just now. Only 6.38%.

Yes.. 6.38%, hm.. i think most probably low payout due to retained earnings..

Theoretically, PNB will allocate a certain portion of undeclared dividends (retained earnings) all their time.. Its their policy.. But i still hope for better results next financial period declaration..
