QUOTE(wildcandy @ Oct 29 2009, 02:56 PM) For SDTV (CRT)=========== R2 games - PAL (Display Resolution: 576 lines interlaced top to bottom [576i]) R1/R3 games - NTSC (Display Resolution: 480 lines interlaced top to bottom [480i]) For HDTV (LCD/Plasma/OLED/DLP projector) ============================= R1/R2/R3/R4 games - ATSC @ HD (Display Resolution: 720/1080 pixels progressive top to bottom [720p/1080p]) Scenario 1: USA/Asia PS3(NTSC System) + CRT TV + R2 disc(PAL System) = 80028f10 error Scenario 2: USA/Asia PS3(NTSC System) + CRT TV + R1/R3 disc(NTSC System) = OK. Scenario 3: European PS3(PAL System) + CRT TV + R1/R3 disc(NTSC System) = 80028f10 error Scenario 4: USA/Asia/European PS3(PAL/NTSC System) + LCD TV @ HD720p/1080p(NTSC/PAL is NOT RELEVANT ANYMORE) + R2 disc(PAL System) = OK. Reason is because the NTSC/PAL difference thingy only applies to SDTV. When you play on a HDTV, all this issues doesn't matter anymore. For GTAIV, it's kind of hard to get R1/R3 version here in Malaysia. Unless you're ready to spend a bomb to buy the LE of GTAIV (R1). This post has been edited by geekster129: Oct 29 2009, 04:08 PM |

Hi,
I'm planning to get a PS3, problem is, I might be getting a 24 inch LCD monitor to play, and audio will be using a pair of headphone. I know the HDMI won't be an issue, but any suggestion on the audio? Because I know the PS3 doesn't have a simple 3.5mm jack. Any help would be appreciated. |

QUOTE(yeakhon @ Oct 29 2009, 08:01 PM) Hi, Fortunately, the recent PS3 firmware upgrade allows multi-channel audio output.I'm planning to get a PS3, problem is, I might be getting a 24 inch LCD monitor to play, and audio will be using a pair of headphone. I know the HDMI won't be an issue, but any suggestion on the audio? Because I know the PS3 doesn't have a simple 3.5mm jack. Any help would be appreciated. This means, the audio will not be combined together with the HDMI signal but you can actually use the audio output from the A/V output as an alternative audio output source. That being said, you can configure your PS3 in such a way that the visuals will come from the HDMI output, and the audio will come out from the red/white RCA jacks. Couple it with a RCA-3.5mm jack and a female-female 3.5mm converter, you should be able to output the audio to a stereo headphone. See pics. for info. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by geekster129: Oct 29 2009, 08:47 PM |

Wow thanks. Guess I'll have to buy quite some accesories. Maybe a Small LCD TV is not a bad idea after all, since I might be able to just plug the headphone into the 3.5mm plug.

normally, patches refer to the game update (bugfixes, etc) and DLCs are in different category.
using those terms, patches are free and they doesnt involve DRM at all. start the game and it will auto update. on the other hand, paid DLCs are treated as other paid contents. |
