your set would be region A blu ray. and australia is region B so no you cannot just randomly rent blu rays in australia. but check on the back of the case, some blu rays are region free. you can rent those if they have them available.

guys i've been looking around for this answer for a while now, your help would be greatly appreciated.

If i am using my US PSN ID, and i log in and play a game , for example Fat Princess. When selecting to play Online, will the game look for servers nearest to me or primarily first in the US since i'm using an US PSN ID?

Or if i am using my M'sian PSN ID and play Fat Princess, would the game search the nearest servers to me first ?

I'm asking because i'm using my US PSN as my main account and logged in quite alot of trophies there already, kinda don't want to switch. But if playing multiplayer games like the upcoming modern warfare 2 and killzone 2 online and the game will match me to US servers FIRST due to my US PSN then i will switch to a M'sian PSN. But seeing as i will lose my trophies iw ant to make sure first.

thing is some games like kz2 allows us to choose to connect to any region (asia, US, Europe, middle-east) in the warzone options.

psn account is separate from game servers...

Shahreza2000 thanks for your reply. And yes now i remember you're right. However some games like Fat Princess doesn't allow that choice and i'm just wondering if anyone knows?

Does anyone know if the new upcoming Modern Warfare 2 will allow u to choose? i Can't remember if the first modern warfare or the World at war call of duty has the option to choose whcih region servers.

ok heres the thing. whenever i turned off my set to standby mode, i will allways switch off the back power button as well.
sometimes i hear a buzzing or crackling sound when i switch the back power off. has anyone experienced it so far?

so is it okay if i turn off the main wall switch after standby mode without the tempering with the ps3 back switch?

* best way to switch off ps3 , let it be on standby mode , switch off the power button at the back of the console , then turn off the main switch.

* the crackling sound , normal for ps3 phat...especially after turn it off...dont worry

it happens especially when i turn the back switch off slowly. something to do with electric flow?
been lil bit of paranoid here sorry...

if some games doesn't have, it means it has centralized the servers ... its like you'll be able to play anyone on the globe..

the disadvantage for us is that our connection is so-so... lag is another big issue...

the 1st MW... used to play a lot with HK, thai and SG players...

i have one concern here ..

when i try to play online game, it likes i dont have internet connection (unable to play PS Home at all - it failed and getting error like no connection)

So, I check my network connection (wireless), it is connected. I able to run System update, login PSN, etc .. but when I try to test network connection, I am getting error at download/upload. any idea why?

Yea , i experience that b4 , i using phat ps3 too..the best way is like other said so , switch off your ps3 using XMB menu Power turn off , it will auto shut down into red light , then wait awhile only turn off the power behind. ( just wipe ur hand with clothing b4 turn it off , static energy ^.^ ) now i never heard the "piak" sound again ~

hmm , PS home , u using which country PSN ID to use PS home ? Malaysia PSN tak ada service PS home ^.^ others like US , UK , SG i think got....

hey guys, is the psn under maintenance right now?
coz just b4 this my friends list went missing, and when i restarted my ps3 AND modem, i can't connect to psn at all right now.
anyone experiencing this?

yeah centralized servers (mainly US) really sux but that is the price us South-east gamers have to regularly pay.

However, i'm just curious. An asian version of Fat Princess (only avaliable on South-east asia and China PSN) should have an asian centralized server right?
If so, i wonder if the game will know i am in Asia (despite logging on with a US PSN) and connect to automatically with that server rather than the US server... would be good to know.

both are slim=check
both have same in everything coz of made from same factory=check

i guess it only left the warranty coz being issued from 2 different country.
