i wanna ask sumthing..
is there any difference if we buy ps3 outside of malaysia..
cuz my sis want to buy ps3 in aussie as a gift for my brother...

and she is in australia right now..
*
Afaik, the only obvious difference its just warranty.

If your bro lived in Aust, then its buy locally there, so that he'll be (warranty) covered.

As imo SONY doesn't have international warranty.

QUOTE(maskedchan @ Nov 7 2009, 08:14 PM)
pity that person...that person so unlcuky...
but majority people in here no problem using cap ayam...

The last i heard and read from AV sites, they said theres actually no difference (visually) in getting a rm30 (china brand like Panther) and a rm300 ones (like Monster).

In other words... they said those ppl buys MONSTER cables are totally being ripped off... tongue.gif... overpriced and works the same.

So, i guess those having problem basically the cable its defective?..

Btw, how do i identify the HDMI's versions?... as those cheap ones doesn't state/written on it... rolleyes.gif

Most newer cables should be 1.3 icon_rolleyes.gif

But i heard most around (normal ones) are v1.1 - v1.2... and the latest v1.3b supposed to have better color hence "deep color" feature in the "b" revision.

I can't identify which version/revision of hdmi, as most cheaps ones doesn't say what version/revision on their packaging... =/

Another thing its... those cheap ones.. even written there v1.3b, but izzit true wan or not.. lol sweat.gif

Its there a way to find out?.. unsure.gif

Becarefuly, some people are being unscrupulous by selling 1.3 HDMI cables by just simply re-packaging 1.1 HDMI cables. I've seen some, but thanfuly they aren't that common.
*
Yea, thats what im afraid of too.. lol

Some dealers are just unscrupulous. Must chop their hands off bruce.gif

However, if really worried, then fork out extra and go buy Giraffe from Sony Store.

It is mahal, but you won't be funding the nazi-like activities of companies like Monster laugh.gif
*
True oso.. but i gotta say.. i dont see much v1.3b around, mostly just v1.3.

v1.3a rarely.. i was thinking getting Philips ones, that cost rm98 for 2m, izzit ok?.. or Giraffe wan cheaper?..

Yea... can't be true... i really hope not..

Considering one of the main advantages getting a PS3 because PSN its free, unlike X360.

Well, u could just get those notebook cooler thats comes with its own power-adaptor wink.gif

probably just using his brains on the matter tongue.gif

seriously though, how would a notebook cooler help in any way?
notebook fans are placed below the notebook.
the ps3 fan is placed behind the ps3.
so....logically it wouldnt do anything at all with regards to airflow on the ps3.
it's like you sitting behind a wall, and placing a fan behind that wall.
pointless tongue.gif
*
Are u using yours?.. I was referring to notebook cooler not ps3 cooler.

And as i said much earlier it does help for laptop (so far theres no reviews on it that doesn't work), so it shld work the same, unless u have proof otherwise (like placing temperature sensors in and on your PS3).

Cheers smile.gif
