vr true... 4 throttle too much hassle la... not necessary good... jz use a larger bore single throttle body can d lo.... modify valvetrain kasi extreme one... engine management kasi good one.... intake exhaust flow efficiency kasi perfect one... brows.gif

His 1 SOHC 140WHP?? GHAHAHAHHA, my next target adi

In terms of logic, his car has the advantage because power to weight ratio but eh, forgot fat mech right? if fat, power to weight balance out liao tongue.gif

higher cams doesnt mean powerzone or matspeed cams... i'm talking about custom billet cams with higher lift and durations above 29x....

4g92p can achieve it easier as it has 16v compare to 12v... even though both is SOHC...

I am finding a streetable setup yet can achieve 140WHP+ SOHC smile.gif

Lizard, his 1 DOHC adi ah, no wonder.....I am aiming for SOHC smile.gif

maybe the valve seal spoil oreadi...?
i face this same prob b4....
jerking at low rpm....
smooth at high rpm...
i change valve seal and distributor oil seal....
everything ok....
come pg boh jio....

a bit paiseh to admit, but not very much. i trying to get in around 600.
i'm not very particular about rims la, just wanna get rid of the current steel rims (ugly ma) and of course upgrade to 15"
saw some 16" for good price, but 16" tyres are expensive rite? pls advise.

better check compression first...cheaper...and ur cable...coil...before going to top overhaul...

no idea .. now changed to 4-2-1, changing at 2.5k to 3k has given me a very good feel .. lolx

hmmm, if its really valve seals then i think the seals r torn or something jor, coz i saw my valve seals which got bigger than usual (my mech say maybe the dealer put dunno wat chemical inside to temporary make good effect) ...

not all 16 are expensive...205/50/15 with offset 36-42 will not hit wheel arc...i assume ur car standard height....

i got 205/50/16 federal 595ss rm 230 oni...the evo rm 3++...

i was searching google about rims and found this thread.
this guy change sport rims quite often for his Hero, and while he isnt making reviews,
he left some short comments on each of the rims he had used before.
note that he said that one taiwan rim is "lembik" (soft) does it mean no good? easy bent?
then on his another rim, he comment very "ringan" lightweight, but mudah bengkok.
wah...makes me wanan buy local made rims instead (coz malaysian roads...) rclxub.gif
anyway, he also had one gold coloured metal rim (rim besi) which he said very very lightweight?
eh, metal rims are very light meh? are they stronger than allow rims?

ya..he is in melaka. in alor gajah. he sell all good quality and with cheap price. got 15" with new tyre only RM500. but he alr sold. for 15" i not sure, me from 14 straight jump go 16.. laugh.gif

coz while i was hunting for used-wira, got a shop in Muar, he has a wira 1.6 with MMC engine, the dashboard and everything also complete GSR style. the price? same as normal wira of the same year!!! that's why before selling ur car, remove all those and sell separately can get u higher value.

My wira got a dik dik dik dik sound come out from the left side of the dashboard when the car is moving,when the car is stop it is quiet.... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

need to isolate the sound first. remove/empty your glove compartment (i suggest remove it out totally and test drive)
u need to find the source of the sound la. sometimes very simple, maybe coins, or something vibrating.

hmm..i got sound problem also .. when driving above 80km/h theres tik tik tik sound coming out from my meter there... very noisy sound.. after reducing the speed, the sound no more.. any solution sifu ?

i have already check the compression, all cylinder is at ave (dunno how many liao, forgotten). so the compression is ok woh.. then the cable la.. sparkplug la.. for the coil.. how to check ah? and hydraulic tappet also got seal de ah.. then the distributor seal is what?

mmm... seems like i need to go for 4g93t-advance class liao.. need to understand moreee..

front bonnet very heavy, yeah. rear trunk still ok la, not heavy, if change also small gain only, unless you already nothing else to lighten on your car.
for wira aeroback, cannot change, i thk? unless u ask custom made. for fenders, better dun la, if kena ketuk, it will crack.

got.. his is acc shop not tyre shop. he got atleast 10sets of rim inside his shop, but for wira he only got 2 design 15" (both also 8 holes). if u need do alignment he can intro also. if u want can go hv a look also nvm. janji suka. the price he gv u, u sure suka 1 la.

the tyre weight should have a bit increase, and overall diameter also will increase.. for sure the car will suffer de. how much is acceptable, it's up to you. but i like the comfort of having 195/55.

and add a vacuum meter in the dashboard. then most probably will use the car until it stop workiing (or if kena lottery jackpot, i buy RX-8 to play play)

alvin... those cars u prefer ah? actually i've thought about it before also (tat time chatting with fren about winning toto jackpot) i will still get normal market sports cars. not really into ferrari, merc or those kinda sports cars (for now). for me, the fun of "driving" is that the car is not perfect. if drive ferrari (example only) and the car handles too perfectly, maybe it feels boring also. like luxury cars, merc those type... u speed 200kph but u dont really feel anything (too perfect) then dun have thrill factor. maybe this is another reason why i wanna try rx-8, its a tiny car, with a tiny engine and it can compete (struggling?) with larger brothers.

guys..yesterday i went to theworkshop due to a funny sound from my bonnet...turned out that the radiator hose was leaking and water entered the radiator motor causing it to rosak..they charged me rm180 for ori and rm95 for non ori for the motor..was wondering if thats the normal price..

and they said my alternator bearing rosak causing a GREK GREK sound..i did notice the sound before and the fact that my car is LOUD when cruising at 120-140kph..but he said i had to change the whole alternator for rm105..was wondering if its necessary..

masao, i am not too into those small sports car la .. lolx .. maybe coz of my size, that is y i like Evo 4 door sedan but has a monster heart flex.gif.. fetch girls also can fetch more ma brows.gif ... if got money then i go for luxurious ride liao .. haha
another factor is maybe due to that i grow up sitting in an old merc, large spacious and comfy even though its 10 yrs older than me ...

alvin: not really ugly, depends how BIG/small you put for wira. i think not bad wat, some more less ah-beng-ish compared to large evo spoilers tongue.gif but anyway, like i said earlier, only for future mods la, dun have also nvm one nod.gif

regarding all those bars, if you only gonna install ONE, then get the rear ARB.
but not cheap, coz the price of one rear ARB enough to get 2 (or more) of the rest tongue.gif
so far i've only got the front upper struts from UR (4point type)

i saw from UR site, they got explain wat is the effect after installing the bars,
after reading and looking at it .. it seems that need to get all the bars to reallly get the effect ... like the front stuct bar, need both upper and lower front to correct understeer ... so if like add one then need add all jor .... rclxub.gif
die liao la ... no moeny still wan think of mods .. haihz

not really la, but if you want best effect, of coz taruk more the better la.
although be careful a bit about the under-carriage chassis bars.
coz proton chassis not very strong, so if u have those installed and hit something hard, you might damage ur chassis? hmm.gif

tu front spoiler is anti glare shield ....
sure using HID and due to the owner very kind don wan glare ppl so put a put spoiler ... 1st to be an anti glare shield ... 2nd to cut wind, aerodynamics ... 3rd to make the car unique .. tongue.gif doh.gif

First time post in FnF, I had some problem about my wira. I hope anyone can enlighten me. My wira is wira SE 4g15

1) That day, I went to an accessories shop. And they told me, my car using 1.6 absorber, that make me curious due I never heard anything like that before

2) I wonder what exhaust setup is good for my car? Due my car is auto and original setup is straight flow.

fyi, all the sifu are currently not around...

1. not sure about the 16. abs but surely wira SE's suspention is better than other wira .... stiffer and have better handling ... which is a good thing .. to confirm i think either wait sifu come or check online for the original specs ...

2. Wira SE exhaust setup is already good ... original already 4-2-1 extractor, all u need to do is change to S-flow since ur car is AT ... furthermore, if u wan u can change the catcon (not sure SE got or not) and replace it with a midbox/bullet ....

no need special mod, some wira's backseat can be folded by default (1.6L?)

oh, so it means yours can fold, but not entirely flat la?
its due to the cushion (backrest) shape. u need to change to flat cushion shape to make it go down flat.
but its not comfortable. i rather sleep at driver's seat, with the backrest pulled down all the way.
done it before at long trips.

fyi, all the sifu are currently not around...

1. not sure about the 16. abs but surely wira SE's suspention is better than other wira .... stiffer and have better handling ... which is a good thing .. to confirm i think either wait sifu come or check online for the original specs ...

2. Wira SE exhaust setup is already good ... original already 4-2-1 extractor, all u need to do is change to S-flow since ur car is AT ... furthermore, if u wan u can change the catcon (not sure SE got or not) and replace it with a midbox/bullet ....

the LYN sticker we ask before, the sticker shop quote us a minimum of order of 100 pieces
around 300- 400
so 1 piece around RM3- 4 only but we dont have so many active user here... therefore, we dont dare to do it first

oh...hmm..... lets open a thread for user to buy the sticker lo ... make it a Pre-Order thread... if got 100 user then only we go order lo.. if worse come to worst, we'll make it ourself lo .. take the designed sticker, then bring it to shop to print it lo .. unless many people want it then we can order in bulk smile.gif

bring and check ur abs, springs can last quite some time ... maybe leaking or something? ...
proton give straight flow maybe cheaper since they do mass production on it and put on every car they can ...
lighten crank pulley, it gives good pickup power (in a way, good at low end rpm) .. when u reach higher rpm u will need to sacrifice more petrol for the speed ... not sure whether its good on AT or not but certainly if u r a guy that likes pickup rather than top speed then u can try the lighten crank pulley ...
car mods need to sacrifice 1 to gain another advantage ... so all this is up to u ...

about the sticker .. we can make the unofficial one but we cant use the word LYN nor the logo ... sad.gif

LYN-PWC Proton Wira Club should be okie kua... i think it's easier for those who wants the sticker, just get the file, and go print it outside. it would be more expensive than batch ordering, but our number is not that big. and posting is messy..

from the pic above .. it seems to be able to DIY ...
get the diameter of the hole ... then buy a same diameter tube then u can connect urself ...
if the diameter is around 2.5" or 3" or 3.5" .. and if u wan easy then u can find in garage sales thread for CAI hose ... cut it short and stuff it between ... LOLx

About the crank pulley seem like is a bad idea for me, due to I prefer higher high speed like 100 and above.

the workshop i am going now is nearby Tesco Express at Bercham ... opposite got a Caltex Petrol stations then the workshop is behind the petrol station at the light industrial shop lots ... u will see a Proton SC, then after it will be a Kia SC ... after then u will see a Wayne Workshop, thats where my mech is ...

Anyone know where can tune the kickdown(I hope i didn't mention it wrongly) of a car? My car is AT and even I floor my car, it won't shift down my gear or proton don't have such function ? >.>

then one day i saw this in cold storage.

for qwerty keyboard, touch screen + friendly user go for N97
for nice screen, touch screen + windows mobile go for HTC touch pro 2
for non window os , alot function n style go for iphone 3G note dun buy 3Gs


for business looking got for e71 or blackberry note if u buy 2nd hand black berry i can help u do the service but must charge.

mine works...but not that brand.....just check ur door rubber whether is hardening. if harder apply the softener or change the rubber. if rubber still okay change the motor. rm30 buck nia... can DIY sumore

ok dis the thing... os no matter which brand n company... 32bit os just only can use 3581mb or ram no matter u plugin 10gb or wut. if is a 64 bit operating system. it use unlimited of ram. like my fren got 32gb for his comp wit vista ulimate 64bit.

theoretically, 64bit use unlimited of rams meanwhile 32bit max 3.581 gb.

so for 32bit system just buy 3gb or 4gb is enough bcoz the extra ram wont be used.

n recommended check ur system whether is a 32bit or 64bit operating system. if is a 64bit cpu n u install 32bit, u will lose alot performance. yea super alot although u wont sense it.

p/s btw dun worry about software. eg like game only support 32bit still can install in 64bit

Added on August 2, 2009, 5:50 pmis it good to make variable air intake for 4g15. You know 4g15 stock filter got air buffer tube... can i change it to open pod there. so if rpm touch 4k open pod will open. Prenggg... Variable Air Intake Module (VIM) biggrin.gif

yea .. that spoiler normally i see on SV4 ... its nice but the toyota u posted is kinda weird .. haha

go study some law papers .. u will know .. haha ... coz Lowyat/Lowyat.net is all copy-right ... if we use it without permission we can get sued ... an example, last time at Jalan Ipoh, got a mamak open stall name "McCurry house" .. then McD came into topic .. i think u can guess wat happen la .. haha ... Infringement of Copyright ...

almost joined proton cc too, but i wanna join coz they got a nice car sticker, so i felt a bit guilty and stopped myself from registering tongue.gif
so...how can we keep our identity as LYN gang without infringing on their "trademark" ?

use LYN also cannot meh?? or go by procedure loh.. after design the banner, send a formal request to the admin, ask them to give approval. then, we are safe to use it liao lo..

I got Shell, Top Gear, and F1 Sepang car sticker tongue.gif

btw, I have two problems with my Wira...one is the left front brake. When hard braking, I can hear a sound from it. Difficult explain what kind of sound, but it happens when the car is about to come to a halt. When the road is wet, that tyre will lockup. Does anyone know why?

secondly, my remote is dead...almost. You have to spend half an hour pressing the button before it decides to release the lock for you. I'm using the spare now but that's also in bad condition. I hear from my colleague that you can change the whole remote at some shops. Mostly those shoe cobblers at shopping malls. Is it safe to do this? Can anyone recommend a reliable shop?

as for the remote battery...its still good. Can see the light shine brightly...but not all the time. I feel like the connector is rusted or something. No budget to change whole alarm system lar...

bring to accesory shop 1st, might be the frequency went off ... my spare set also same case, bring to shop and tuned the frequency, still not so responsive (need 1 or 2 clicks) but better than ntg ...

get your brake pads checked for irregular bites (got makan one side, etc). from here it's easier to assess your real problem. maybe its your calipers. u try braking while your car moving in a straight line, let loose your steering a bit, got turn one side?

as for the remote, sounds like just a dead battery la, no need change whole alarm system.
go to kedai kunci, usually they got service them one. if it is not the battery, then usually is the tactile button contacts problem already, if this is the case, ask them reprogram your remote to a new set la, not too expensive la.

masao, wanna put V6 engine ah, make sure ur front shocks upgraded. V6 darn heavy, affect the weight at the front. More prone to understeer

that extra tabung air air buffer... so if the exhaust gas lost back pressure when changing gear it will help to compensate it so the rpm wont drop so fast. Should be good for auto car and for low rpm enhancement. Turbo car cannot la. sweat.gif

used la bro... rite now low budget period, cant afford new rims + new tyres.
the tyres are at least not my current continentals! can probably use for few months before i saved enough to change new rubbers smile.gif

anyway, dun wan talk about it too much first, sekali deal cancelled last minute, then wasted time to discuss, haha

not high pitch sound. more like heavy metal sound. And you can feel it a bit on the brake pad during hard braking.

actually... i thk got some sound is normal la. eg. if on a downhill slope, if i press my brakes at just the right amount, i can hear brakepad RUBBING disc sound also coming from the front. like "grrrooookkk". is that what you are experiencing? coz u said it wasn't sharp (high pitched) sound? usually is the brake pads. since u said if brake freely on straight roads dun have swerving to one side, i guess they are biting evenly on both sides liao.

yea yea...it does sound a bit like "grrroookkk"...a short but kinda loud 'grok'. At first I thought it was something wrong with the suspension, coz my suspension is old and probably broken...making little banging noise as you drive even on a straight road.

so, should I change the brake pads? or...something else?

Aeon_Clock, u can just simply bring to a shop and diagnose 1st b4 changing ... its normal to go, ask/check b4 performing any repairs ... maybe check brake pads, ur brake caliper ... check 1st b4 do anything ... if the mech sendiri syok and change for u without u know, u have the rights to call them change back (i doubt this will happen and if u r present ..)

ok, now we getting somewhere liao.
if u press the brake pedal MORE, the sound goes away? if YES, good smile.gif if NOT... cepat go get it checked (the pads)
only got sound for a short/quick moment only right?
coz the sound is produced when the pad touches the disc but not enough to stop it, hence rub-skip (tak tau nama) happens.
i not expert la, but that's my case. so same advice, get ur pads checked bro. safety reasons.

when the brake pads about to finish off.. it will 'grroookk'.
but i do experience when im using proton brake pad (mintye i think), after few months, it also give out that kinda sound... i dont like it, then change to more expensive ones. i cant remember the names lo.. sorry.. i think it's called bendix or something, and the sound gone

no, the sound only comes when I press MORE (hard braking). If I brake like normal Sunday morning drive...no problem.
I tot it will grok both sides if the brake pads worn out?
btw, using Bosch brake pads here...

bendix...im using general ct on my bro wira 1.3 using gsr disc n calliper,my moms myvi,my other bro rear evo disc,front using don...me using ebc green front n black at rear...

brake pads less than 2 years old...
but I went for servicing at Eneos 3 weeks ago...they didn't mention that the brake pads were out...

guys, i SOMETIMES get white smoke when i started and warm up the engine in the morning. it happens like once a week (estimate). if ask me about weather, i not too sure la, coz my house on hill side, quite cold also. but if its due to temp, why white smoke dont happen everyday wor? rclxub.gif

the white smoke can get quite thick (tebal) but not as bad as people doing decarbonizing la. it usually lasts about 1-2 minutes before it stops.

i checked online, some say water got into the valves and combustion. some say check hose, some say change gasket.
i also blur. how to identify ah? thanks

but how to tell if it's unburnt fuel, or water? coz both produces white smoke rite?
