Yup... i got around 54mb too on fresh restart...

This is 54Mb is WITH handy shell and mykeylock running.

Max i got is 57Mb

If TS would be so kind.. maybe he can pin this up on FP base on my finding...

Disable Theme Effect = save 4-5mb
Change Front Screen to Basic = save 4-5mb
Close all software on startup = save 4-5mb
*
Digital clock instead of analog = save 1mb laugh.gif

i would suspect certain of you mp3 files contain virus and corrupted your memory card, i always back up my memory card before i add any new software or songs or movie so if corrupted you just need to reformat the card and copy back all the content to your card.

I'm not exactly an IT guy, but S60 is a different OS compared to Windows/Mac/Linux. I don't think the S60 knows how to execute it? Unless that virus is specially designed for S60?

this is my 3rd time experiencing this.

if you ever experiencing non responsive buttons on home screen, it is most likely due to improper disconnecting from mass storage mode.

-no 'search internet and phone contents' shortcut
-non responsive contacts and dialer buttons.
-empty tooltip on all home screen buttons.
-empty shorcut bar
-pressing green button at homescreen does not bring dialer/dialed log

however, other shortcuts remain functional.
-connectivity shortcut is accessible.
-alarm shortcut is accessible.
-profile shortcut is accessible.
-on-call controls are accessible.

as i said earlier. the only solution is reset. both soft and hard will do.

Virus? mmmm.... I dont think symbian (starting from S60V3) very easy to get virus as long as you didnt hack your phone. Virus developer need to sign their program with symbian... I dont think this will pass symbian

Thats why I think antivirus for our tube not necessary (unless you hack your phone!)

Nope, just like normal format but reset the cluster size back to default in case u changed it. Try to format the card using Panasonic SD format tool.

erm... im not so techy... but wut u meant when u say reset back the cluster size?

All the files inside are not required by the phone to operate rite? Say if i wan to resintall a program in the sd card which is totall empty n newly formated. The phone will just recreate all the necessary files n folders?

"The FAT file system used by DOS and Windows divides all of the file data on the hard disk into clusters comprised of multiple sectors. A cluster is normally between 2 kiB and 32 kiB in size, in powers of two, containing between 4 and 64 sectors of user data. This is done to make managing the location of data easier. "

But ignore it if u never changed it before.

When u reformat the card, it will be totally blank. Once u insert the card into the phone, all the necessary folders will be created (Backup, Music, Pictures, System, etc)
