QUOTE(tumira @ Jul 28 2009, 01:52 AM) Upgraded my firmware. Did not disappear completely, but I would say it looks much more black now. Hurray for v30! Good for lazy bumps like me don't have to visit the NCC for the camera module.Surprisingly my camera green noise is gone ( u can refer to thread v16- when you close the lens, it should be totally black thingy). No need for me to go to NCC My phone connection with my router (DIR655) is more stable now. Added on July 28, 2009, 7:21 am QUOTE(elvman @ Jul 28 2009, 02:44 AM) just updated the firmware...hmm... this update seem to make things speed up... That scrolling without using the scrollbar is available in v21 as well if you did notice. (Cause I was using it to scroll at certain list which are too huge =/, scrollbar too sensitive to do that.)now i can scroll my contact and song list without touching the petite scrollbar anymore... great response.... the scrolling on the app menu work great too... now no need kenetic scroll also good enough lioa.... also notice the buttons seems to come with lighter color especially on the home contact and dailer button... one thing funny though... it reset my clock to 8pm 01/01/2009.... QUOTE(cyloh @ Jul 28 2009, 06:21 PM) wow, messing with the internals of your tube? Err, just like normal phone there's a gap in between the touch screen and the LCD display.. Dirt goes inside so easily there! Anyways, my case seems to feel more rigid after refitting it... Before this it was making noise whenever I hold it :S.so the casing screen actually not part of the real "touch screen" right? if that is true i might as well don't need SP. |

QUOTE(JdOtL @ Jul 28 2009, 06:24 PM) updated my phone this morning, didn't notice any different others then the extra dictionary, can be use no problem as some forumer got, and the volume at music player, i tot it oledi have volumn control at v.21? Never did notice v21 having that. Didn't even know it existed until I went to test it on my phone. I only notice the red new dictionary, faster when changing orientation and best of all, camera module seems to be working better. Much lesser noise than at v21. |

Added on July 28, 2009, 6:31 pm QUOTE(cyloh @ Jul 28 2009, 06:25 PM) so the housing screen is not part of the touch right? Put it this way, touch sensor -> empty space -> LCD. The one you're touching is the touch sensor piece. The housing is only the black piece, the touch sensor is attached to it. So, don't remove your SP lor.if u confirm, then i might want to take off SP.... in hopes of more sensitive touching This post has been edited by celciuz: Jul 28 2009, 06:31 PM |

QUOTE(cookie860217 @ Jul 30 2009, 12:22 AM) Does anybody hav this problem when u set the alarm at 6.30 then it only ring at 6.32 or 6.35. It doesn't ring at the time u set but ring later. I just encountered this scenario, 6:30AM alarm but it started at 6:34AM. I set it to 6:38AM instead, it seems to be accurate though. Don't know what's wrong with it My 5800 having this problem recently. Even when ring later snooze it doesn't ring 10 mins(set mine at 10 mins) later but around 12 -15 mins later. Added on July 30, 2009, 7:05 amMy 7:00AM alarm is late 4 minutes This post has been edited by celciuz: Jul 30 2009, 07:05 AM |

QUOTE(cookie860217 @ Jul 30 2009, 07:40 AM) I use the default alarm tone I don't think this problem came with v30, before this also occur I think. When I googled around there are people who complained about the inaccurate alarm. So it is not just mine. This morning I set at 6.28 snooze 7mins. It rang at 6.28 but snooze around 6.41. Earlier dont hav this problem. Only came after I upgrade to v30 QUOTE(apexg2 @ Jul 30 2009, 08:05 AM) time not accurate anymore...so mean that this v30 still got many problems la...luckily its late oni 2-3 minutes...if 1/2 an hour??sure everyday u will late to school...sorry,office... The time is correct, just that the alarm rings at a later time instead of the time you have set. Probably some firmware issue. |

QUOTE(utopian86 @ Jul 30 2009, 10:22 AM) Initially, I thought it was good. Recently my dad bought a Garmin Nuvi 205 (the most entry model). I used the Lite MFM on my Garmin Mobile XT and the Nuvi was running on full customisation with all the POI. The Nuvi 205 was much smoother and faster than the phone. So yea, after that Garmin XT felt a little slow for me, but works fine so far QUOTE(Velocity @ Jul 30 2009, 10:26 AM) Time is accurate, just the alarm doesn't sound on time sometimes. I tried a few times, some are accurate, some delay a few minutes then only it sounds. |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Jul 30 2009, 11:00 AM) No idea about the hardware, 333mhz if i recalled correctly. But then again, that is a dedicated GPS unit. What I want to highlight is that, the map refresh isn't exactly "smooth" for my Garmin XT on 5800. Its acceptable and probably performs well compared to other GPS phones. Wonder how the garmin perform like on N97 which has faster processor though. |

QUOTE(chicaman @ Jul 30 2009, 11:23 AM) don't mix up garmin nuvi with garmin mobile xt they are both different thing to begin with. garmin mobile xt is running in symbian os while garmin nuvi is the os itself in the gps. 5800 main function is for call and sms and gps is just an add on. there are so so so many function in 5800 and dont expect it to respond fast like dedicated nuvi which purpose is for GPS only. some ppl who might need to use it everyday might opt for a dedicated gps and for ppl who need it when it is needed, they got for phone with built in gps. best example is ps2 / psp hardware isnt as fast/great as the pc u are using, but to run the emulator of it, u need a hardware 10times of psp/ps2. same concept applies for garmin~ QUOTE(Velocity @ Jul 30 2009, 11:25 AM) absolutely Right Is the nuvi you mention able to make phone calls, take photo, browse the internet, send sms? I knew everyone would mistake me as comparing them both and expect a GPS phone to work like a dedicated GPS unit ._. |

QUOTE(thomanic @ Jul 30 2009, 10:03 PM) LoL...then i better dun update to V30 then..i am quite good with my V21 and V30 doesnt seems to give any major improvememnt... V30's response increased quite a bit though, and it solved the camera issue for me without changing the module late by 1 minute...hmm..pretty important to me..cause i am a last minute guy. |

QUOTE(boonpeng @ Jul 31 2009, 10:32 AM) After notice V30 is having alarm bugs, I had check the time this morning before i switch the alarm off.. Mine as well sounded correctly this morning. But yesterday was definitely off by 4 minutes.I'm using workday alarms.. So far my phone will ring at 7am without fail.. Perhaps I am the lucky one?? QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Jul 31 2009, 10:57 AM) Maybe now the CPU will run at max speed most of the so that explains the faster response from v30? Just guessing. |

Don't think so, I managed to get a lock on within 5 minutes without A-GPS. (Was actually checking out the map so I blocked A-GPS from connecting).
