Hi guys,

I'm new here. Please guide me.
Currently I'm using MSI 770-C45 mobo with Athlon X2 240 OCed to 3.5GHz with CoolerMaster 212+ CPU cooler.

Now I'm planning to upgrade my proc because then Athlon cannot tahan running 100% load 24/7, as I want to run more program. Is there any recommendation on what proc should I get between 550 BE and 555 BE, I'm planning to unlock and overclock it if possible. 550 or 555 is better?

Any good proc batch(as I didn't see any 555 BE batch at the first page) and maybe a good shop at lowyat?

how come u said cant tahan? regor chip is sooo cool.. proven by sifu ah_khoo.. it can run 1.5vcore with low temp (consider low for that vcore)

if u want to do more task, then ill recommend 555BE..so far i saw 1003 can unlock... few reported success..

It still can tahan, no restart or BSOD although being used 24/7, but when I want to start new application, it'll be very laggy.

Is there any noticable difference between Athlon X2 and Phenom X2 if I use it for multitasking?

however, judging from your siggy, the next thg u need to upgrade is your ram
otherise, your proc will bottleneck..proc good ram sucks pun x guna~

I have 6GB RAMs of DDR2 800, but all value RAMs, not performance one.
Do you know any shop in lowyat still having those batch?

6gb wouldnt cause lag so what does cause the lag.

pczone might still have the batch but not guaranteed to be stable though.

btw what kind of lag u meant?

Lets say now I'm running 10 of XYZApplication, I can still play WarCraft while 10 XYZApplication still running, but when I run 11 of XYZApplication and play WarCraft, the gameplay will be laggy. I want to run more XYZApplication and play game at the same time.

that one normal la brader.

2 cores cant handle that much stuff going on.even E8400 struggle with that much apps running on the background.

kekeke..even u not running it 24/7..still it will be laggy..
how about go buy athlonII x4 with deneb core... if u cant unlock,at least u still have a quad rather then taking risk by going to 555BE..

arghhh i still can't make my unlock stabil,i play wit Core Voltage,CPU-NB,HT Link and wht i got is blue screen that tell wth data is crash, then i stop to unlock now just run my pc with my X3 435..i feel like to buy new cpu that can easy to unlock

Just bought Phenom II X2 555BE yesterday and manage to unlock to X4 and overclock it to 3.8Ghz stable!
Processor batch 1003EPMW.

Hey, I just bought mine 555BE 1003GPMW but not yet test it out.

You sure this batch number 100% can unlock? I ronda whole Lowyat and at last found 1 1003GPMW from Viewnet, last 555BE in the glass cupboard.

Hope I'll able to unlock and OC it.. <--so greedy.. Haha

same batch doesn't necessarily mean same fate, just that d chance to get unlocked is higher only. i've witnessed few 550/720/555 from decent batches having bad core(s). all d best...

unlock is the easy part,to make it stable is the hard part.

Successfully unlock it, just set ACC to auto and EC Firmware to Special(MSI770T-C45)
