My short review of ACRyan PlayON HD (POHD), and comparison with new released WDTV Live.
My setup:
Using stock Realtek UI (as seen in Asus Oplay!), this player can play every movie throw into it. Since im only have 5.1 speaker setup, my only concerned audio output format is Dolby Digital and DTS, so Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD is not really my requirement (pls correct me if i'm wrong), and I also didn't have any BD backup or rip in my collection. and since my TV only support up to 720p (1080i doesn't really count), so all my video collection is only up to 720p resolution (save some space!)

I think if u read my comparison between wdtv live and acryan, i also got complains on wdtv part.
not every player is perfect.
Thanks for the comparo...nothing against ACRyan cause it is my preferred choice (cause it has coaxials output).
If i go WDTV route, I need to get an amp, or converter from Toslink to coaxial that would cost half of the player itself.
In your review you mention only 720p stuff..
I collection are mostly made of 1080p stuff (nope, not bragging) and nowadays, encoders are releasing versions that are 12Gb~18Gb file and bit rates of above 13.9 ~ 18Mbps.....especially, Wiki releases..
(I rarely watch SD material anymore...unless its my kids barbie collection)
I hope it can play through it smoothly...
