fed up playing with 955 BE! it was design for AM3 and High OC with DDR3 mobo!

i think i asked this before. is it worth changing from 7850be to x2 550be ( tht cant unlock ) ? whats the advantages?

Even without unlock you will get:

-Higher clock speed overclock
-Cooler due to smaller fab process

Well it depends sometimes performance do comes at a price but since the diff btw those two processors are quite little (+-150) and while the chances to unlock vary between batches, it is safe to assume that while 550 will gives you a wider smile, the 7750 isn't going to mess up your face either...Yes the L3 Cache is different and would help in games etc, but the 2Mb on the 7750 isn't bad either

The true reason of switching to 550 is because of the unlock ability that resides on a certain batch but if unlocking isn't possible (which in return enables the performance of a processor equivalent to the 955 or 965), I would say keep you money because as far as AM3 vs AM2+ goes, it isn't worth to spend just on bragging rights and DDR3, which isn't really giving it any advantage over at the Intel camp apart from gaming

I tried unlock my 720 4th core.. during post it shows X4 20... but after tat it won't boot to windows.. black screen only.. does it mean my 4th core is defective??

try supply more vcore?

Have u tried lowering ur HT mul? Make ur HTLink around 1600mhz ker..

haha im actually running at 7850be now but -pws- got a x2 550.. and i feel like gettin it.. i need to top up about RM150.. but not sure if its worth the upgrade.. im tryin to get smooth processing on my computer. it feels very jerky when i multi task.. not sure if the 550 can resolve that problem for me

still won't boot. What are the symptoms like if 4th core are defective? Will it cause this?

Jerkyness during multi tasking would be 10% CPU but what is more importantly invest in huge amounts of ram or a fast HDD (velociRaptor or SSD) would makes your system mooooree snappier...

I just got a Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H, in the manual and website it says Southbridge is SB710. But on CPUZ motherboard tab, its SB750. Will CPUZ have mistake??
