my wife is very patient... she didnt prebook.. she only want to buy the phone without the ivalue plan..

maybe next month she go and buy, once maxis got enough stock..

FYI... Even those the 2nd batch was here also reserved for prebook customer.... If order now also need to wait atleast a month, This is what maxis told me... But u may try on MEP store cause they might order more for non-booking customer....

Yeah i want to know also. I havent receive any sms and call from them. I book at Maxis KLCC too...

I made my Iphone 3Gs 32GB booking at Plaza Wawasan, Kota Kinabalu, on the 2nd Aug. I went there earlier before and the guy over there told me that if I come after the day of the launching (31st Jul), I can get the Iphone straight away. But to my disapointment, the stock not arrived yet.

So I just book the phone and I was given sim card for iValue1 plan and the guy told me that I will get my Iphone on the 7th Aug, not a confirmed date. If the phone haven't arrive yet, they will call me. So I waited till the 7th and no one called. So went to the maxis center straight away on the 7th.

I was looking for the guy but he's not there. So I met with another guy there and I told him I want to pick up my iphone. He told me that no 3GS Iphone arrive yet because of the problem with the KASTAM. So I asked him when can I get it, he told me that they will call me if it already arrive.

It sounds fishy, so I send a complaint via maxis website. Two days later, a guy from the Plaza Wawasan Maxis center called me. He told me that actually the whole of Malaysia who booked for the phone haven't got their Iphone 3Gs yet because of the problem with the KASTAM. This was on Monday, 10August. But get a load of this. He told me that 14 new units will be available on the 18th Aug. If my name is on the first 14 people who register, I will get mine on the 18th. Hmmm, sounds fishy. How they know the KASTAM will release the iphone on exactly 18th of August.

So he checks my name and sadly, my name was not on the first 14 people who booked. He told me his name and ask me to go to the MAXIS center in Plaza Wawasan and look for him because he says he can adjust the bill (I haven't started using the sim card and I definitely not gonna pay for something I don't use yet) . So today 13Aug I went there again looking for the guy. He's on leave. I talked to the girl there and she called the guy. Then the guy like forgot what he told me.

He tried to explain to me that they will call me once the Iphones arrive. I told him that he asked me to come in to adjust the bill. He said it could be adjusted once the Iphone arrive. Then he talked to the girl and the girl said she'd change my iValue1 to ValuePlus30, so that I wont have to pay much while I'm not using the simcard. Only have to pay RM30 a month for something I dont use while waiting for my Iphone.

Anybody got a link with the KASTAM to confirm these guy's story?

FYI... Nowdays KASTAM r really hold back those importer stuff, for those who import steel and metal, KASTAM wan to test and importer need to pay for the testing, if not mistaken phone r under the catagories.... Who even pay earlier then will test early and will get their stuff faster

Then why Maxis claim delay was due to world wide shortage rather than KASTAM.


Anyway I got my iPhone from Maxis KLCC just now, The asked me to find my name in the list. I guess those are the ones who didn't get, there were about 100 people in the list.

Got a phone call today from Maxis Gurney in Penang saying that I might get my 16GB black by this week. She actually asked if I wanted black or white, the ones who wanted black can collect their phones by this week, but the ones who wanted white must wait for next month. According to the person.

May I know if these are NEW stock that has just arrived in Malaysia?

I was among the unlucky 1st batch that didnt get the phones on the selected dates.

I booked on the 18th July and paid deposit on 20th July. My original pickup date was supposed to be on the 7th August since I was outstation.

But I received sms from maxis klcc yesterday to collect my unit anytime before the 17th Aug.

I also overheard them say that they had 114 units in stock for the pre-booked customers, but when i collected my unit, the label was already no 72,

the kastam issue is not officially announce and not going to let public knows, only importer will know about this....

so basically they only have 114 units in stock? or there are only 114 pre-book customers and that they might have extra stocks?

damn... i made my walk-in booking(prepaid) at a MEP here in kl around the 28/8.. looks like i wont be getting it at all..

just got a phone call from TTDI around noon...saying I'll be able to pick up my 16gb White Iphone 3Gs tomorrow!!! Woot..

good news.... I just received call from machines MV saying that 3gs 32gb black is arrived and can be collect, only for those received call can go to MV to collect it....

I'm going tomolo morning..... At last it came.....

these are isolated cases, same like dell and sony recalling their laptop batteries. not every electric product is perfect. one or two incidents are bound to happen. probability is 0.00001% perhaps?

see guys, y did u complain the whole week about not getting calls/sms, this and that?!
now i'm hearing ppl getting calls to collect their iphones, so for those 2nd batch, pls save ur breath, u'll get yours too soon!

ah, i envy those who has gotten or going to get their iphones, if its not too much, can someone who's going to pick up their phone to ask if they have extra stock available or all stocks are only for those who pre-book.

EDIT: if i call, they always give me the same answer, maybe if face to face they would be more willing in giving a better response.

No extra stock at maxis KLCC, I've asked during my collection this morning. Sorry Guys, they did mention that there are some stocks awaiting customs release though, but you know CS la, they tell you anything just to satisfy you.. sometimes
