my Kenshin dont eat much lately...is there any reason to this? he's active during playtime, he doesn't loose weight or look thin...is he stress or something?he seems normal now but i'm worried if this goes on and will effect his health...

i saw pictures i8n this thread tht ppl gave canned cat food to their hedgie...is that ok? if its ok i would like to try giving it to kenshin, maybe that way he'll gain more appetite. any brand/ flavor recommendations?
*
How long does this happen?

Overseas almost all hedgie owner serve their hedgie a mix of kibbles, canned food, cereal and etc. Make sure u select high quality one..

Do u use LC-Vit supplement on kenshin?

I don think the condition is very bad yet, jus monitor for few days more.

You can use the LC-Vit, it helps to increase their appetite and boost up their immune system..I uses it on all my pets.

Try turning off your lights and see whether he comes out. Normally my Tequila comes out when I turn the lights out.

yup, that's true..i heard cross breed between siblings tend to produce unhealthy hogs...
i got my pair, Sunil & Sonia from 2 different breeder...Sunil now around 6 months old and Sonia is 3 months old...
Previously i got Sunil for RM150 and Sonia RM170 biggrin.gif

Anyway i got a question, how to feed my hedgies with calcium powder? is it the same calcium powder for Suggies?
Can i just pour the powder onto the cat foods before feed to them?
and how frequent do u feed them with this calcium powder?

Heyy Jason!

Pupi is growing well, I got her a wheel already.

And I managed to potty train her to poop in a tray of litter.

But she always does her big business and walks around dropping small ones. It's like she's almost done but has to walk around.

A mess every morning biggrin.gif haha

I also managed to train her to eat worms. and beetles and roaches. all homebred of course.

anyway just wanna say thanks!

And i wanna ask everyone,

what's a good hide box thats heavy. Cause the current one she keeps dismantling and climbing on it. Once she came out of her box by using her hide as a stepping stone.

hey there, great to hear that from you.

homebreeding worms, beetles and roaches as well, talk about luxury for hedgehogs. wink.gif

if you want DIY, ice cream boxes make great hideboxes, although they make good platforms for her to climb onto. but if your main problem is Pupi climbing on her hidebox, then i'd suggest getting the igloo-shaped hidebox, you can find them in major chain petstores. the price is about rm12-13 if i remember correctly. easy to clean and light, but will definitely prevent the hedgehog from climbing around. there's no base though, what you put as bedding will the the base for the hidebox. you can browse through petshack's website to have a peek on how it looks like, i bought from them.
