how do u manage to potty train your Pupi??
*
Scoop the poop and place it inside the litter box. Whenever i took her out to play, and her tail is gonna start pointing up i'll just quickly grab her and place her inside the poopy place.

hey there, great to hear that from you.

homebreeding worms, beetles and roaches as well, talk about luxury for hedgehogs. wink.gif

if you want DIY, ice cream boxes make great hideboxes, although they make good platforms for her to climb onto. but if your main problem is Pupi climbing on her hidebox, then i'd suggest getting the igloo-shaped hidebox, you can find them in major chain petstores. the price is about rm12-13 if i remember correctly. easy to clean and light, but will definitely prevent the hedgehog from climbing around. there's no base though, what you put as bedding will the the base for the hidebox. you can browse through petshack's website to have a peek on how it looks like, i bought from them.

Ahh yeahh but i'mm looking for like heavy stuff. Its okay I have an idea of what already : )

Heyy Jason!

Pupi is growing well, I got her a wheel already.
And I managed to potty train her to poop in a tray of litter.

But she always does her big business and walks around dropping small ones. It's like she's almost done but has to walk around.

A mess every morning biggrin.gif haha
I also managed to train her to eat worms. and beetles and roaches. all homebred of course.
anyway just wanna say thanks!
And i wanna ask everyone,
what's a good hide box thats heavy. Cause the current one she keeps dismantling and climbing on it. Once she came out of her box by using her hide as a stepping stone.

As what jtl mention, u hav to keep the canned insects inside fridge once opened. smile.gif

And it can only last for 7days even you keep inside the fridge.

It's better if u can feed living insects... don really favors preserved products..

You are welcome. LC-Vit is not for vit-c actually.. It's something called Lysin inside, that helps boost up their immune system and also appetite..

Great to see improvement in u and kenshin~

Try to introduce the mealworm or superworm to kenshin, it would be better if u include living food as part of the diet. U can leave 1-2 mealworm inside the food bowl with kibbles for a nite, i'm sure he will eat it..

I hav a fren who is using aquarium, don really like it.. it's nice to see..but it can cost u a lot too if u get a big big aquarium..No point if u keep hedgie in a small 2-3ft aquarium..

Go Pets Store and search for jtl 's thread. Got hedgie starter kit inside, every basic thing is included and selling in reasonable price.

You r right.

C&c kinda hard to wash if use for hedgie...troublesome.. but looks nice..

There is other cages variety in the market, storage box can be used too as long as it's big enough...

For hoglet usually we use RC36 which is specially for kitten, because of higher protein. They are still young and in developing age, so they need higher protein in their diet.

Slowly ppl will change when the hedgie turn 10months old or 1year...

However, i think it would be better if u observe the size, and also monitor the exercise level of the hedgehog, then only decide how much protein should be consumed by the hedgehog.

For those skinny, or high exercise level hedgehog, they may need to consume higher protein. For those bigger/overweight hedgie, you may need to swap to lower protein for a short period of time.

Like mine, because kenken is kinda big last time, so actualy cut down the protein consumed daily, now he slim down already to a more ideal size, so i jus maintaining his weight and size now.

so...if a hedgie is around 10 months old and considered normal size what RC should i give him? if oversize pulak which variant got less protein? my Kenshin looks like he's put on a little too much weight after he overcome his appetite lost last month, now I'm worried that he's fat... i mean his gaining weight drastically, felt heavy when i put him on my palm, i have big palm (compared to most woman) and he's full on my palm...
