hedgehogs are very quiet creatures and they do not smell like suggies. I would say the starting costs would just be the cage and the accessories which would come to about RM300. On a monthly expenditure, I only spend approximately RM10 for food and bedding.

Let me break this down.
RM150 for cage,
RM25 for bottle,
RM20 for litter box,
RM100 for wheel,
RM5 for food bowl,
RM15 for hide box,
RM30 for bedding pellets,
RM25 for wood shavings,
RM32 for RC36,
RM30 for hedgehog diet food,
RM1 for meal worms
That's about it for my starting costs. After that next 3-4 months, no monthly costs. Maybe RM2-3 for meal worms.
Maybe some price wrong already. As I said, it's just an estimate.

Not a bungalow la...Semi-D only... I figure he has to run around a lot. Turns out he sleeps a lot and uses the wheel only... rclxub.gif

I think it's one kilo. That's why I wanted to buy from you! Cheap cheap!

I bought everything from petshack. Maybe that's why it's more expensive

I do agree with DIY...Makes it feel more homely I guess...As I was in a rush to get a home after I got my hedgie from Jitshiong, I had to resort to buying everything...

pink_baby: Go get from bro jitshiong, he has a whole lot of them...Hahaha...
living monolith: Asn to quote bro monolith, hedgie's are actually quite clumsy...They tend to miscalculate the height and make a jump for it.

And as I promised bro Jitshiong, here's Tequila!

Get one la pink_baby! They are relatively easy to take care! Just feed everyday! As the topic goes, they like to be left alone!

Wow...So quiet on the hedgie thread? Where did all the hedgehog owners go? All minding their own business like their hedgehogs?

Hey bro...This reminds me of something I encountered as well. But luckily my Tequila is still OK. I came back one day to find my RC all scattered across the floor. My RC is normally stored in a plastic bag. So what I suspect is that a cat came into my room and started to eat the RC. Lucky for me, Tequila was not harmed. Nowadays, I store my RC in a air tight container and whenever I leave my room, I make sure all the windows and doors are closed.

Try turning off your lights and see whether he comes out. Normally my Tequila comes out when I turn the lights out.

guys... who ever try giv 8 in 1 blended hedgehog food??? my casper seems doesnt like it la... i give it with royal canin he just eat royal canin.. make dunno with that healthy food... any idea??
*
Try this way... This is how I introduce the 8 in 1 to my hedgie. Put 4 pieces of RC and 8 pieces of 8 in 1. Make sure you break the 8 in 1 into smaller pieces. Then slowly reduce the RC for a fwe days. Your hedgie will get used to it.

naruto,
A hedgehog is quite big. It's about a mini football size. You definitely need a much bigger box than your existing hamster cage. I had a 2 feet by 1 feet cage but , even that I found it to be too small. Instead, I have a 3 feet by 2 feet now. I do not think you can hide it under your bed...

wei wei...your hedgie takes fruits? Mine won't even touch any fruits...
Main diet is the hedgehog mix and rc32... and the occasional meal worm gutloaded with vege...
