QUOTE(JuzJoe @ Jul 28 2009, 12:17 AM) OMFG, I've been reading on Sanwa & Seimitsu parts and i'm not sure which 1 to get already. I've touched both brands of buttons and the comparisons isn't that much, Sanwa has a more sensitive feel compared to Seimitsu. If you the kind of person who likes to hit the buttons a little harder, then Seimitsu would be your choice. However, Sanwa would be prefered if your handling on lots of tapping methods. So its all on user preference, I for one prefer Sanwa compared to Seimitsu Could u guyz share ur experience? |

RG buttons are suppose to last 5 times longer... but the price is kinda steep,it's 580yen per button so in conversion, it should be around rm25 if brastel were to bring those in coz no shipping or taxes or thingamajigs involved... |

Pros about RG buttons:
• Claimed to last 5X longer than the regular ones Cons: • Limited colours • Expensive • Most important: need to ensure your stick has sufficient space to accomodate its much longer length, as compared to normal buttons. I don't think it's a problem for HRAP sticks but it's not usable in Fighting Sticks. On TEs I think you may need to bend the metal button tabs sideways. |

(just wonderin, im getting the OBSF anyway) |

(just wonderin, im getting the OBSF anyway) For TE, better to use snap ins. The metal mounting for the joystick in the TE will obstruct the screw for the X button due to the dual mounting compatibility (Sanwa JLF and Seimitsu LS-32 stick) If you're using sanwa screw in, it's tougher coz the screw is thicker and wider, for seimitsus, using a little force will be enough to force it in, worse come to worse, juz sandpaper it a little. Of course there are other ways of working thru it but recommended to juz get snap ins if modding the TE. Hope that helps. |

QUOTE(hanz079 @ Jul 28 2009, 09:01 AM) For HRAP3, snap ins or screw ins will work fine. In my experience, for TE and HRAP sticks, snap-ins may get very loose due to worn-out grooves (the metal plate grinds them off the buttons). On a TE with default artwork retained it's secured in place due to the artwork's thickness. A 1/16" plexi with custom art nicely replaces it, and you won't feel the button looseness. Without plexi and with custom art, it'll be loose (same goes for the HRAP sticks) and when you shake the stick, the buttons rattle a bit. Fear not, without plexi, the owner can use a thick artwork, or do some creative mod to make sure the buttons stays in place. For TE, better to use snap ins. Also for snap-ins, the side tabs you squeeze to allow the buttons to snap-out can easily be damaged, or worse - broken, due to the soft plastic. If it goes in, just take out the plunger (the middle part of the button you press to make moves come out) and press the side tabs out. With screw-ins, to overcome the TE Short Kick button issue, I filed the nut by 1-2mm so it fits nicely under the joystick' area's metal mounting. ![]() [Click here to view a larger image] You can freely use the screw-in buttons with almost all sticks, and are a great solution if you're not sure if a snap-in securely fits your panel profile. I myself use both types, as most colours are available for snap-ins. I don't have any preferences but if given a choice I'll go for screw-ins as they feel more secure (got the nut). You just need a bit of planning. This post has been edited by rawfish: Jul 28 2009, 10:46 AM |

Hi Alvin, if it's replacement buttons that you need, I have a set of Hori buttons (8X inputs, 2X start/select) from my new HRAP3.
These HORI buttons feel a bit tighter and comfy to press. Not sure if it's because they're not 'broken-in' yet, but they are definitely different from the ones from older HRAP3 batches. Nice alternative to SA/SE buttons. Or you can test all 3 types when we next meet before making up your mind. A decent dinner for them will be enough |

Remind me this Sunday, I owe you a drink or something for helping me replace my one button due to my lameness in using tools. |
