masteralvin heard it right. i checked it again, the commentator (seth killian?) said Dan from Japan is Daigo's buddy and sparring partner so Daigo brought Dan over with him. Dan currently ranks #40 in Japan according to the commentator.

supposedly he's Daigo training partner and ranked among the top 40(it's not stated that he's #40) in Japan.

Most people only show love towards Daigo while they're tons of great players here. =p.

EDIT: so i got nothing better to do and checked, Dan is #49 in Japan. biggrin.gif

hey brastel can tell me where to look for jap arcade rankings?

there are tons of great players in jap, but i have daigo to thank for reviving my interest in ryu. without daigo, i wouldn't have known about the other great players like nemo, ojisanboy, mago, tkd, shiro, itabashi etc. but daigo is still d best in my book coz i had almost lost all hope in ryu as a decent char. due to my lack of sf skill, my ryu has always been owned. it seemed to me at one time that ryu is one of the lamest character, average defense and offense... 2 punches from ryu equals 1 punch from sagat... but daigo has showed us that ryu is not so lame after all with his consistent and marvelous victories rclxm9.gif

but i stil main sagat personally coz its easy for less skilled players like myself. not many fancy combos involved... good offensive power n strong defense tongue.gif makes it possible to win matches with just basic moves.

i dont know, i checked using my phone(im in japan).

anyway ryu's never been lame in sf4, he has all the tools to deal with things and also a variety of ways to land his ultra. sagat is just silly LOL

FA the Sonic Boom.

Block the first hit of the sweep, FA the second.

Or, block the first hit of the sweep, jump and attack.

Or, block the first hit of the sweep, throw.

Or, block the first hit of the sweep, Ultra.

Et cetera.

Did anyone catch the 5-on-5 East Coast vs West Coast SF4 exhibition which just ended?

• Valle's Ryu defeated by (forgot name) using Sakura's ex-hurricane juggle setups

• Arturo Sanchez's Seth defeating a Hawaiian Guile - close Sonic Boom match where Art came back with an impressive combo (ex-hurricane near wall then headstomp mixups)

• iloveu Joe's Sagat vs Hsien Chang (very experienced Akuma player), almost catching back on life with a MASSIVE psychic Ultra through gou-hadou

• Mart's C.Viper defeating Hsien Chang (Hsien earlier defeated Ed Ma in a mirror match)

WOW!

Watching the HD Remix Finals now in office. Seth Killian commentating.

Valle beaten by Damdai (a GGPO player) in a Ryu vs Ken battle.

Choi progressing now after beating Sirlin's (Fei Long)

Sirlin (Cammy, Dictator), lost to Graham Wolfe's Boxer

Choi (Ryu) lost to AfroLegends (Boxer)

Damdai's Gief eliminates Graham Wolfe's Boxer - very impressive and tight match with many comebacks and unexpected turns

Quarter Finals - Choi (Ryu) vs Damdai (Ken) - Choi was far superior with footsies and cluth SRKs, no way Damdai could have gotten in

Finals - AfroLegends (Boxer) vs Choi (Ryu) - Choi makes a comeback from the loser's bracket after being sent there by the same opponent. Afro wins the first 2 games. At the 3rd game's match point it was so close. Afto attempted a throw but whiffed. Choi walked forward to catch him offguard and wins! 4th round - was very close and Afro took the game to become this year's champ! Choi was evidently the crowd favourite, and was also 2008 champ for SSF2T

Next: SF4 Finals!
