I only have a Hori FS3... does anyone have those rounded corner sticks? I find the sharp corners on my little hori fs3 pretty useful. Wonder if the 8 directional sticks makes it harder to do the double diagonal tap for shoryukens.
Anyway EVO 2009 begins today! Can't wait to see Daigo's match up. Wonder if any top Japanese players are participating as well... This post has been edited by kcalvin: Jul 17 2009, 07:39 AM |

QUOTE(sonx2003 @ Jul 18 2009, 08:44 AM) yeah..the latest we could see daigo playing is tommorow morning. Anyway theres so many good match played already.. There's one jap guy nicknamed Dan who looks to be real good. Even though he isn't used to TE sticks, hav language problems and seem to b having difficulties configuring n using someone else's TE stick loaned to him, he really owned the americans he went up against so far. Ryu's medium kick to super out of nowhere... Daigo-like!i don't think the japs will conquer evo anymore. i know its weird to say this but thanks streamyx, the live broadcast seems no lag at all.been watched it since last night. Hope he's not a pure arcade player back home... it'd b sad if he lost cause he doesn't know how to fight cammy or those other chars not available in the arcade version... |

QUOTE(MasterAlvin @ Jul 18 2009, 12:16 PM) the DAN FROM JAPAN woooaaa i din hear that. in daigo's absence he's my favourite now! the fact that he doesnt have his own stick n got a loaned one from the commentator, n seems to be struggling initially with d placement of the stick, whether on his lap or on a chair, and various mishits prolly coz he aint too used to the stick, and stil managed to win with relative ease! from what i could make out from the commentary, apparently he is Umehara Daigo's sparring partner. his calm demeanor, gentle disposition, d makings of a champion respect respect Added on July 18, 2009, 1:28 pm QUOTE(sonx2003 @ Jul 18 2009, 12:23 PM) no wonder his ryu strong..he's playing japs style..but not very much like daigo. me too... sad that i missed alex valle's match. old generation but still going strong yeahh damn i missed that gootecks vs alex valle match.. thought the live stream from evo would sux with screamyx but surprisingly good for me. d streaming seems to suk nats for my fren tho. Added on July 18, 2009, 1:45 pmJust found out that you can actually watch the whole thing again at ustream This post has been edited by kcalvin: Jul 18 2009, 01:45 PM |

QUOTE(sonx2003 @ Jul 18 2009, 08:12 PM) who's DAN FROM JAPAN anyway..? never heard of him before..is he top japan player? masteralvin heard it right. i checked it again, the commentator (seth killian?) said Dan from Japan is Daigo's buddy and sparring partner so Daigo brought Dan over with him. Dan currently ranks #40 in Japan according to the commentator.but he's my second inspiration right now..after daigo of course.. |

QUOTE(brastel @ Jul 18 2009, 08:37 PM) supposedly he's Daigo training partner and ranked among the top 40(it's not stated that he's #40) in Japan. hey brastel can tell me where to look for jap arcade rankings? Most people only show love towards Daigo while they're tons of great players here. =p. EDIT: so i got nothing better to do and checked, Dan is #49 in Japan. there are tons of great players in jap, but i have daigo to thank for reviving my interest in ryu. without daigo, i wouldn't have known about the other great players like nemo, ojisanboy, mago, tkd, shiro, itabashi etc. but daigo is still d best in my book coz i had almost lost all hope in ryu as a decent char. due to my lack of sf skill, my ryu has always been owned. it seemed to me at one time that ryu is one of the lamest character, average defense and offense... 2 punches from ryu equals 1 punch from sagat... but daigo has showed us that ryu is not so lame after all with his consistent and marvelous victories but i stil main sagat personally coz its easy for less skilled players like myself. not many fancy combos involved... good offensive power n strong defense |

QUOTE(leongteng5 @ Jul 23 2009, 03:20 AM) thats a pity. I've been sparring with mostly new people these days but there are some people I miss fighting..all either something wrong with their ps3, problem with connecting online or some jump to PC or playing other game. But some of the people I just added are quite good. Add them if you like: I still play champ mode. But the quick match hardly ever shows anyone with a decent ping nearby. crapcom can do much to improve the matching.go_go_missile2- fellow Zangief kaki from Indon. Fun to play with, also plays a decent Guile. Deathyc - Also another Gief Brodsta_AU- 2-bar connection (he's Aussie) but damn expert at Bison. Give him at least a try bigmouthpa -decent Akuma Also, I never have any matches in champ mode anymore. Is anyone here playing? Why don't we set a day of the week where everyone goes to champ mode at the same time? That way we can go up the ranks and pick people to add at the same time rather than picking a name from the PSN id list just to learn he's not playing SF anymore. |

QUOTE(rawfish @ Jul 24 2009, 06:56 PM) And no, I'm not some over-crazed, psychopathic hardcore fan. Really! I feel that while I still have some old-school blood in me, this is a good opportunity to speak up. The scene is indeed heading towards the right direction, if we as fans do not speak up, misguidance may occur. whoa incredibly well written dood. if i'm the organiser of that event i would definitely feel intimidated, n mayb a touch defensive with a trace of fear that said, as a fellow sf4 fan, i do feel a little inferior with my normal hori fight stick. i think, if i go to this tournament, i'm sure to meet alot of sf4 pros from the lowyat forums with high end arcade perfect sticks. m i ready to die like a dog and b disgraced wit my puny cheap stick? mayb it's just me being overly sensitive, but the organiser may have a point if his/her perspective of the tournament is a friendly gathering hoping to attract families n their kids. if they see an army of humans with arcade perfect sticks surrounding the tourney, most casual gamers or ppl happening by would think "i dont stand a chance here let's go home..." anyway i do support progress towards a more mature fight scene in msia. mayb then high profile players wil b invited from japan, korea, singapore etc. it'd be nice to b part of the atmosphere similar to evo 2009 where incredibly skilled sf4 players duke it out for prize n pride. |

QUOTE(Star_Scream @ Aug 1 2009, 05:22 PM) no lar i can only use charged characters.. shoryuken hadouken characters i tak tau guna.. check out pweic's charged characters lagi giler.. i feel for u dood. my personal experience so far with screamyx players (i assume they r on streamyx or at least in neighboring countries like s'pore since can get 3-5 bars) i encountered i have always died badly. I remember once encountered phyurix by chance in a champ mode final quite a long while back... died like a dog. gigatonpress83 thrashed me too in a champion final once. theonejin's blanka crossed me up till i see stars... mikaido1982 also thrashed me. since then never saw him playing sf4 no more tho. not hebat at all used to kena belasah by mikeee, phyurix, booga, dan banyak lagi 10~20 straight games... there's one other active with psn id 'wahzai'. seems to be good with a lot of characters. thrashed me badly too the few matches i managed to play with him. if anyone here is just an average joe in sf4 (ie. unable to do shoryuken fadc into metsu hadoken), please add me. otherwise my sagat may be too weak and boring for u One other old fren and sf4 partner that i have a slightly less than 50% win rate against (but still defeatable with my meagre skills) has psnid 'mydon'. You can add him if looking for players with our 'skill' level Added on August 1, 2009, 9:30 pm QUOTE(pikacu @ Aug 1 2009, 08:42 AM) no eye deer... mayb brastel can help translate it.This post has been edited by kcalvin: Aug 1 2009, 09:30 PM |

QUOTE(MasterAlvin @ Aug 10 2009, 01:56 AM) multilayer wise, match making is 100x better than PS3. what stick is compatible when playing on the pc? does it need special drivers?but the gameplay will suffer due to some ppl's incompetent rig. (low FPS) otherwise it's alright. the good thing about PS3 is its local play. always flawless and smooth. do u guys still have disconnect issues when playing sf4 on ps3? have read some posts in the past that ppl with 2-4mb streamyx lines dont suffer from dc issues. is this confirmed? |

hi, does anyone know if the pc version of sf4 is affected by the player's registered country/region eg during championship or ranked player searches?

QUOTE(Darkstalker @ Aug 31 2009, 02:11 PM) For all u guys on ps3 version, can i ask wat is your disconnection rate? It seems for me i dc with everyone else on average 2 games or sometimes even less. I can only get 20-40 games with specific people. Majority is always 1-2 games dc, spam invites, dc, invite again n repeat. |

QUOTE(Star_Scream @ Aug 31 2009, 07:35 PM) i m using screamyx 1MB, the rate was rather, OK.. most of the time i can play 10~20 games without disc, but of cuz there r times where it lags and got disc after few games.. playing with players from other countries is totally diff story altogether... dc so much yesterday. about to give up sf4... dare say it's the most expensive ps3 game i've bought so far hehprevent anyone in ur house from downloading stuff or streaming vids.. slow down ur online game tremendously.. sf4 ps3 game = RM185 sf4 pc game = RM119 hori fs3 stick = RM245 costume packs = ~RM50 That's a sheet load of currency! The pc version, other than near instantaneous connections to other players, it is still very possible to get disconnected. Some of the random blokes i challenged in champ and rank mode already have 4-5% dc rate. Was hoping sf4 pc would not suffer the same problem. Perhaps it's my line, or my router, or a combination of screamyx and playstation server issues. But i don't understand why i can play pc strategy games without lag with local friends but can't even sustain a sf4 match consistently. Some days it's great, some days it saks. Koyak case. |
