Hi fellow SF4ers! I haven't been online for almost a week!! Getting rusty here!!

I love playing with people who are more skilled than me! It's a very good way to learn. It's better if you have a video camera to record the matches to see what went wrong at which point! Lots of pros here in LYN forums!

With SF4, I even managed to play with pros from Phillipines, Thailand, Indonesia.....which are now in my PSN list!! SF4 is really bringing people together!!

On a side note, Itabashi (Jap pro Gief), Poongko (Korean pro Ryu) and Laugh (Korean pro) came over to .SG for some matches. The top .SG player (Peihoon) got 2nd place in the tourney.

Here's the link to the matches. More matches on the link on that thread.

Brief cross up headstomp follow up? what's that? Can describe? Maybe I'm doing it but I don't know I'm actually doing it.

Edit: are you talking about the skulldiver follow-up from a blocked headstomp? The intention is not to actually cross up...cause the skulldiver NEVER crosses up (unlike SF2 sweat.gif ). The intention is to: -

1. confuse people who doesn't know it doesn't cross up.
2. fake a skulldiver into grab (i.e. don't do skulldiver at all)
3. make itchy fingers people to do srk too early so it comes out on the wrong side and misses
4. charge back, so that when skulldiver hits, can combo into st.lk, cr.mk, sc kick. or cr.mp, sc kick (only for EX skulldiver).

Alert guys will just jump back & attack after a blocked headstomp....no more mix ups. tongue.gif

Be VERY careful of FA-ing the skulldiver...if Bison players see you trying to FA the skulldiver, they'll just use the EX version instead, then you'll be in for a big combo. EX skulldiver combo nets one of the biggest damage for Bison.

trivia: you can link Ultra after you connect the 2 hits EX skulldiver, but you only have a 2 frame window...and must have fully charged back during the fall. Ridiculously difficult to do as it depends on your opponent's movement. Zero practicality in real matches. OMFGWTFBBQ cool factor if you ever managed it in a real match.

Yeah man, I was wondering where u've been. Havn't had a good match with u, and your fren RinStarSG? We didn't get to go all out since it was spiking a bit. His main is Vega (Claw)? For some reason, I'm finding him quite fun to play biggrin.gif
*
Ohh..NekoRinSG. He's one of best Vega(Claw) players I've played with. Very good at poke strings and yomi. Even his Blanka plays more with pokes than using special moves. But I get lag spikes with him as well. His connection has some problems. He might change ISP soon.

Keane from SCE had his PS3 busted due to the 2.8 Firmware update. I really felt sorry for him.

I don't know about back in Malaysia...but over here, if your PS3 was busted due to a firmware update, Sony repairs it FOC.

I'm still around but got bored of SF4. Just tired of no games.
*
No games? what are you talking about? Plenty of games out there in the market. What kind of games do you like? If you like fighting, Blazblue just launched. KOF12 is around the corner. Infamous is a great sandbox game. Killzone 2 is an awesome FPS game. Uncharted 2 is a great 3rd person game coming out soon. It's an awesome awesome game cause I was in the closed beta! rclxm9.gif For a challenge, you could try Demon's Soul. For strategic RPG, you can't go wrong with Valkyria Chronicles.

Actually, nothing to do with PSN. That's streamyx's problem all the way.

I hate to burst your bubble, guys....but XBoxLive rarely have any dedicated servers. Most of their games online all go through peer-to-peer. Those subscribers are paying monthly fees for peer-to-peer connection.

Most games on PSN has dedicated servers...and yet it's free.

Like I mentioned before, SF4 over my side here on the PSN has absolutely no connection issues. Therefore, the problem lies with streamyx's connection to PSN.

As for the Windows version, the netcode might be different from both PSN and XBL. Either way, I'm still getting the Windows version so I can play with more people!

Just spam PPP lariat with Gief for the challenges...the AI is crap (just don't do it against Cammy). You'll unlock those costumes & personal action in no time!!

lol good games boogalogist your dictator is hard to beat. your chun's easier though XD

i can only play abel decently, im shitty with the rest haha

besides my bad execution and roll happy style, i have to say im really not used to play in lag, though we had 3 bars and thats pretty good for such a long distance(you're in sg, right?)

lookin forward to spar again smile.gif
*
Good games with your Abel. I had quite a bit of practice against Phyurix's Abel. Dictator's my main, Chun Li is my secondary and Gief is my scrubby third. But I didn't wanna play Gief so much cause it's a really bad match up for Abel.

I normally play against Japs that have 3 bars....connection is decent with some rare random lag spikes. Other than that, it's very playable. Most of my championship mode games were with the Japs. There's another Singaporean in Japan....his PSN is "JessaLB". Go add him and play some matches with him. He's pretty good too.

Comments on your Abel: -

1. slight overreliant on rolls
2. cr.lp to tick-tornado throw were getting predictable
3. some random wake up ultra
4. wake up tornado throw which I baited a lot

I can't really give tips on how to play as Abel...but try crossing up Dictator as much as possible..he doesn't have much defense against that...except teleport. Use FA against safe scissor kick...you'll need to know the correct zone for this one. Most Bisons will do safe scissors kick which they will recover without being punished, but the thing to doing a safe scissors kick is that it only hits once, which can be FA-ed.

Hmm dude, just wondering, not much Abel players around your place? I'm quite sure there should be some good players. biggrin.gif

There were some Abel players around...but most of them switched main to other chars...like Ryu/Sagat/Boxer.

that's so true... lol.
but it's not the worse. try FADC for charged characters, it's worse.
Bison: c.lk>s.lp>c.mk>light kneepress>FADC>c.lk>s.lp>c.mk>heavy kneepress

btw, boogalogist can you get this on video and show us? XD
i still cant get the s.lp to register as combo =(
whoa! so early in the morning!
*
Of course you can't link the st.lp....I don't think it's linkable from cr.lk....I only know st.lk and cr.lp links from cr.lk. Sorry, no recording device...else I would have recorded a lot of matches to see if I have any bad habits or preditable patterns.

The correct combo from the one above should be: -

cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mk, heavy sc kick, FADC, cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mk, heavy sc kick.

But cr.lk to st.lk is 1 frame link...so to maximize damage and make it easier to link, here's what would be used: -

cr.lp, st.lp(or st.lk), cr.mk, heavy sc kick, FADC, cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mk heavy sc kick.

cr.lp to st.lp (or st.lk) is 3 frame link. cr.lk to st.lk is 1 frame link. st.lk to cr.mk is 3 frame link. So the hardest part is just cr.lk to st.lk. but this combo just looks flashy...damage wise is quite crap. But normally, if you surprise people with a dash in, cr.lkx3, medium sc kick, you can FADC into the combo above. cr.lkx3, medium sc kick does about 130 damage...with the FADC combo, it generates about 220 damage.

For maximum damage, I do j.hp, st.hp, heavy sc kick, FADC, cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mk, heavy sc kick. Does about 400 damage! without the FADC, the j.hp, st.hp, heavy sc kick does only ~330 dmg. So for 2 meters of EX, you get 70 damage....35 damage per EX bar...comfirmed combo if you can link the 1 frame properly. If you're not good at linking, you can FADC and go for grab....but that's escapable. You can get a srk in the face or the opponent can just tech throw.

For MasterAlvin, copied from the other thread: -

Honda's neutral jump HP is a a top tier anti-air move. It almost beats out any air attempts...and it has air control!! (WTF). There are people that know about the power of this move, and spam it. You don't need to be afraid of these guys. The ones you need to be afraid of is those guys that know _when_ to use it.

Thus, trying to jump in on Honda is a very bad idea. Cause his neutral jump HP will pwn you....or if he has EX, he can just do EX headbutt (his reversal srk move).

As Bison, doing head stomp or devil's reverse will get your arse kicked by Honda's neutral jump HP very quickly. Blocked MP and HP headbutt can't recover fast enough and will get hit by Bison's reversal mk scissors kick. LP and EX headbutt recovers too fast...so don't try anything stupid.

Be careful of his ochio tick-throw setups, as well as the st.lp into heavy hundred hand slap combo (very easily achievable with piano tapping method).

How to fight Honda? hehehe...it's one of my harder match ups as Bison. I have to stay on the ground, play footsies and play turtle.
