u80v preinstalled driver is Version 8.570.0.0 dated 9/Dec/2008.

the latest version available in Asus support site for u80v is Version V8.570.0.0 also but dated 05/May/2009 filesize 115MB can search u80v model here: http://support.asus.com/download/download....SLanguage=en-us

Just a side note here, my previous desktop nvidia card hardware failure also experienced similar issue, can't play 'heavy' games, but simple games no problem, it just failed to work at optimum stage gradually over times.

To answer 2nd part of your question, I don't think U80v sold 1 million units, yet. So it's too early to answer You can read alot of users experiences on u80v here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=402411 Most if not all are satisfied with the gaming performance with such a price/perf ratio.

i received my new ASUS G71Gx-A1 today the UPS guy was so nice. even asked me abt the laptop

first of all, its HUGE!!!! 17" screen is bigger than i thought!

now if i only i could get my hands on a 64-bit W7....
