What bag will I get if I buy U80V? Can anyone mind to share the photo? Thnx
*
The U80V comes with Asus bag made by Targus, with a small piece of leather imprinted with Asus logo.

U can see the whole packaging and what's inside here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=395298

Also included an Optical non-wireless Asus mouse made by Logitech, the mouse cable can be stored 'inside' the mouse. The length of the mouse cable about 2.5 feets long, just nice for the usb port at the upper edge of the keyboard. There is also a high quality Cable Tie and lcd cleaning cloth made up of a special combination of interwoven micro fibers that traps particles better than conventional clothes and without the need for chemicals. Machine Washable also.

Actually what is the current price for U80V T6500? RM 3399 or RM 3199? I remembered it was tagged RM 3199 when I saw it at PC fair.

Is there any U80V user facing the same problem as calvincv? or it is the one in a million case that U80V cant run heavy games?

I got to try out left 4 dead, and I can play it on maximum resolution with near max graphics no problem. I can even play it with the HDMI hooked up no problem. The awesome thing is that the laptop doesn't get hot. The area where the hot air releases is perfect.

Tried out Bioshock as well, and I get occasional framerate problems, but I can play that maxed out too (maxed for the graphics card).

I bought Max Payne 2 and that runs no problem.

For the record I am a noob at this PC gaming. I just got what I liked on the consoles. Anyway, if anyone else knows some good games let me know. I want more good PC games.

To answer 2nd part of your question, I don't think U80v sold 1 million units, yet. So it's too early to answer tongue.gif You can read alot of users experiences on u80v here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=402411 Most if not all are satisfied with the gaming performance with such a price/perf ratio. biggrin.gif

i'm targeting the U80V but just wondering which specs  I should get. is the price differential we pay for the different specs worth it in terms of performance and bang for buck?

another question which keeps me up at night is whether i should wait for Win7 to be launched so I can get a laptop with it bundled. i would very much prefer a clean install bundled OS than to do it myself. but the downside is by then, probably U80v no more in production and replaced by something else, which may or may not be better, both specs and price wise.
*
My view is that the T6500 U80V offers a Better performance/price ratio, meaning more bang for buck than the P8700 version.

Simple only, If u can wait, by all means, pls wait for the Win7 launched version. If you can't wait and need a notebook urgently for your works, then there's nothing much to consider, just get it now.

Asus notebook design and engineering is getting better and better these days, so i will say the longer u wait, the better it is in term of design and specs/price ratio.

Any idea how to make the asus notebook Backlit keyboard to remember the brightness level set? as in the case of LCD brightness...

The Backlit keyboard brightness will reset to 2nd level brightness after every restart/wakeup from standby/hibernation.

There is an updated ExpressGate build 1.2.13.14 available in Asus website, i was wondering if anyone have it installed and updated and whether the native screen resolution issue has been solved in this latest build?

The ExpressGate preinstalled in u80v can't display correctly (just like other model i suppose) at native resolution of 1366x768pix, screen display is being stretched horizontally....

so any idea gentlemen? tongue.gif

uh...just a bit off topic...what's a really good cooling pad for my uv80? any recommendation?
*
For a lightweight, lower power consumption and most importantly quiet one, may consider Belkin Cooling Pad.

Review for it applied on Asus R1 lappy here http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4004 icon_rolleyes.gif

Among the laptops that uses CULV procesor, why I choose ASUS?
Other manufacturers like Acer, Dell with CULV, they dun have the turbo boost to speed up the processor speed isn't it?

Like the one with ASUS, turbo33 which stretch more 33% faster!
A 1.3GHz C2Dbecome 1.73GHz C2D with turbo.
*
but from what i heard, the Asus one not using twin scroll turbo.... flex.gif not sure bout asus's Lamborghini turbo tongue.gif

I was thinking, what for put those model which not available here in the local homepage? Put it else where la, maybe ASUS international?

*
Localized asus websites are there for purpose of distributing traffic to respective server? the models posted in asus website are solely for product awareness? and in fact at bottom of each product page you can find a line saying "Please check with your supplier for exact offers. Products may not be available in all markets." Strangely,U80v is available here but not posted in my.asus.com... rclxub.gif
