better get the Studio than the m1530. like nothing says. 8 series = timebomb. Just a matter of time before it broke down. buy the extended warranty if you want the m1530 badly.

nonono it's not that i wanted to get the XPS M1530. a friend of mine got it 2 weeks ago for RM2799. He said it bought it online but I dont see it anywhere when i checked yesterday. I was curious of the specs as i was thinkin he might have gotten a better deal with the Studio 15. So anyone knows of the RM2799 XPS M1530 specs? Or if it is discontinued or something? He said he got RM700 rebate for that lappie.

iirc same spec as Studio 15...

T6500 as well... but M1530 can only customise to the old Penryn CPU (ie T8300, T9300)

but problem is the GPU... tell ur friend google for "Nvidia GPU problem" and he sure will ve a heart attack...

performance wise, same lvl as Studio 15... that probably explains the same price tag...

lol well i myself am using the Z53s with the 8600m gs. It's been 2 yrs and nothing's wrong.... yet but my core clock was downclocked to 500mhz and my memory at 400mhz. 3dmark06's score was real bad but somehow it still handles games pretty well. hope the downclock was a measure to prevent the gc from dying like what used to happen to 8600s T_T

Wana ask the U80V users whether U80V T6500 worth it and has any problem? Does every shop give the Asus bag made by Targus? Or only some of the shop give that bag?

same clock as my old BenQ S41's 8600M GS...

but mine uses GDDR3 instead, 700MHz...

that is quite pretty standard right...? like ppl will get a carrying case when they buy Acer... also made by Targus..

Hi, no worries, the warranty is still valid in Malaysia as Asus laptop comes with 2 years international warranty.
Well, for the accidental warranty, i don't think it's valid here. Maybe you have to read the terms and condition written behind the warranty card which provided by them.

most of the game i installed, all are not responding, NFS undercover, NFS Pro Street, Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet Colonies.. all are not running.. even the 3DMark06 is not running!!!

Can you remember what the last thing you did was? Have you tried using Windows' System Restore to go back to a point before the problems started?

this is a brand new laptop. used not more than a week, yet i still need to find the updated driver?

Well, i have done nothing to the windows system yet, beside disabled the UAC. and like i said this laptop is still new like a virgin. It doesnt convinced me if you said i have to update any driver.

Can u pls be a little more specific or describe the statement "all are not running"? eg. what were the prompts or error msg came out when u tried to run the games...are you intoxicated during the course of gaming? just kidding..

anyway, depends on where u bought ur u80v, some shop allow 1 to 1 replacement within 1 week after purchase if it's a hardware failure. So pls bring ur new baby to see them as soon as possible if problem persist.

i suppose this is not a hardware issue. i'm quite sure about this. I tried install a quite simple game. the Game ran, I tried run dota on my machine, it ran.

but when i installed something a little heavier, the game started but no respond. hope u understand what it means, it ran but not responding. it like when u execute NFS undercover by double clicking the icon, it brought u to another screen but the screen turned black, u see the vista clock is ticking but no more further reaction.



astria : do you know what is the latest version of driver for ATI HD4570? I hv no idea where to find the latest driver.

i suggest u download the Vista version for desktop cards, then grab Mobility Modder to mod the driver to be installed on a mobile card...
