Japanese anime shd not be 24p. Are you sure its 24p source? Normally japanese anime (unless released in BD) is in 5:5 or 8:7 cadence, in this case yes cinema smooth would look more smooth as I am pretty sure the wdtv cannot handle this cadence.

Cinema smooth shd handle this cadence better.

Edit: Just to be clear Japanese anime is normally 8fps.

i see... i have no clue. lack of knowledge here. enlighten me. wdtv set to 24p, check frm the tv stated 24p source.

it's a 16.9 picture.
with cinema smooth - clearer, smoother and the slight judder i can see is not there. but weird tho, the color from my settings looks slightly different with it on.

If u don't mind, what was the title of the anime?

If the source was indeed 8fps, I believe in this case the cinema smooth shd help improve the judder. The colour differences I am not sure, the wdtv does have a bug where it alters the colour space, so maybe when added to the cinema smooth there is a colour decoding error.

i hav to go bck and check. it's a boxing anime.

These 2 models are not for MALAYSIA market; they don't intend to release it here.. It is just for advertising purpose. If you are really interested then you have to pay a down payment and they will indent them in for you. Waiting time up to 3 months… I ‘m VERY DISAPPOINTED with PANASONIC as it treat MALAYSIA market as a 3 Class compared to Singapore. Singapore has their 50” V & G series. Non of their Neo Plasma series is in Malaysia.

You are telling me that they can’t sell, what about SONY; Samsung and other high end product brand? They have the whole range from S to X series: 3 to 9 series in Malaysia . The choice is with the COSUMER; it is part of corporate responsibility and value the LOCAL market.
It became personal as I waited for their 50” V series for 2 years since I last view it in Akihabara, Japan. It came to Singapore recently but will not be in Malaysia. While PANA Malaysia keep harboring it in their advertisement, how advance is the neo-plasma feature ..blar-blar in their brochure and net.

They are trying to cheat the not-so-inform consumer by putting the neo-plasma features in their low-end product advert with small fine print at the back of the brochure “ only in V & Z series”.

There's Panasonic road show at the Bangsar Village concourse this weekend. Was there yesterday, saw the TH-P65V10, TH-P54Z1 and TH-P42G10K on display. So, the Neo PDP plasma series are being sold in Malaysia, but the volume must be pretty low.

They even had the 103" TH-103PF10 on display! The list price was like RM199,999!!! (If i remember correctly)

rm199,999 maybe we should go to the bank and ask them if they have tv loan.. 30 years:)

understand de frust..but this is malaysia & i'd just like to say..buying power in malaysia is not as strong as our friendly neighbour s'pore..not to mention our RM is small like bacteria..something tat's easily affordable in say US or UK or even s'pore became like super premium item when it reaches our shores..just like import of cars..

Our average salary mark simply dun allowed us to spend rm25k on a tv cos rm25k may last us an entire year..sum ppl dun even make tat much in one year..

Tat being said..i agree with de part wher its really up to us..cosumer to choose..sum may save their hard earn moolahs for 2yrs just to get de tv mounted nicely on their HT room..sum go as far as selling their daily vehicle..sum might wanna tow away atm machines at night but de point is..its up to us consumers..de choice shud be made available to us..

B&O showroom in bangsar village has got a 40inch lcd tg retailing at rm20 or rm30k...cant remember exact but it was a ridiculous figure to pay for a 40in lcd tv..yet..there might be buyers..expats for example..some who earns as much or even more than our PM..might buy them..not cos de tv is feature pack but becos its B&O

anyways..i dun think u shud be frustated cos panasonic malaysia can still indent for u if u really wanna buy the tv..only it'll take sum time..its not like its completely impossible to buy de tv here..worse case buy in s'pore..

but..i'm sure i'll have sumone who'll agree with me if i say i'll pick the KURO anytime over panny V or Z or whatever..NEO or not..KURO is still de TV to beat..its stil being used as benchmark & even the new V series were compared to Kuro..came close but not good enough in terms of its ultimate black panel...

many of Pioneer's Kuro engineer & staff left to join panny in their plasma development since panny didnt take up Pioneer's offer..so in future..maybe even panny's next premium/elite range will be kuro in disguise
