Yeah rite. Saw 50S10 side by side with 42S10 in Harvey Norman just now.
It was awesome for the price...(at least for peasant like me)
Personally I would say S10 is good enuf as today's technology is tomorrow's junk.

So from your point of view, 50S10 is better than 42S10?

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Jul 10 2009, 11:12 PM)
Its definitely better with bigger screen size.  What makes it even better is the price....where can you find another 50" full HD screen at this price. what more to say this is pana plasma! not any chap ayam china brand.
*
Yup bigger...that's 8 inch extra make the difference. biggrin.gif
At the mean time, I would stay with 42S10 first.

Maybe the air in the east is different, or placebo effect since you stare too long on those TVs. rclxub.gif

Weird because I have the money, I have 100 original blu-ray titles and almost 15TB of mkv, I love watching movies even though it is in the morning or afternoon during weekends and in the end I choose S10 over the Philips. Did I also mention that the black level on S10 is better than that Philips - thus resulting in better PQ. I also have a kid at home, I choose plasma because of the hard coated and solid surface. I notice reflection on LCD too, just because of the matte finish doesn't meant it wont' have reflection.

Wahhh bro u got 15TB of mkv... shocking.gif
How do you store them up? Can give some guide here. thumbup.gif

Feels funny to have the curtains down whole morning or afternoon. Nothing like natural light into the house.

A 1TB Buffalo External now cost RM330. So, RM330 x 15 = RM4950, just to store those files.

Saw Samsung B650 plasma in HN just now. Side by side with Pana 50S and PY800.
50S seems greyish. Samsung B650 has black tinted glass which made it look blacker and colour of Samsung seems to be deeper compared to other. On the other hand, Pana 50S pic seems to be more natural.

Didn't expect that Samsung plasma can be that good. It wins hands down.
There is still lots of room of improvement on Panasonic plasma.
But again the reliability of Sammy plasma is questionable.

Some unlucky issues with 550:

However after seeing B650, I see WOW too. I put a hand brake on 50S now. A 'no' to it too.

Almost took a plunge for B650 in HN just now. Price:
RM6299 - 1 yr warranty
RM6999 - 3 yr warranty
RM7490 - 5 yr warranty
RM7999 - 5 yr warranty + 32" LCD

*Plus delivery/CC payment/0% installment/HDMI.
Plus point over 50S: plays mkv over USB, 50,000 contrast, 600hz sub field, 'crystal' panel (same thingy that make 6 series lcd looks great than other), IDTV, 1Gb memory

Why is everyone buying from HN when Best Denki got a better deal? Btw, its Best Denki at KLCC.

The Samsung B650 in Best Denki, also get 5 years warranty, free 32 inch lcd and free hdmi for RM6999 (without bargaining yet).

Okie thanks for update. I am working at KLCC this month.

I am glad many agree the Samsung quality is far better than the Panasonic. I thought my eyes were bluffing me.

Also, why is everyone buying from HN when Best Denki got a better deal? Btw, its Best Denki at KLCC.

The Samsung B650 in Best Denki, (1) 5 years warranty, (2) free 32 inch lcd and (3) free hdmi for RM6999 (without bargaining yet).

If one considers the 3 free gifts above, its worth RM2000. So, one gets a full HD 50 inch for RM4999.

Like that 50S also lose big time in terms of price.

Best price I got for PS50B650S1R is RM6800 without the free 32' TV at Best Denki Midvalley with 5 yrs warranty. Harvey Norman selling for RM6300 but with standard 1 yr warranty.  Need to top up another RM500 for 1 + 2 yrs warranty.

Walked over between panny and sammy and you guys are right. The Sammy wins over the Panny 50S. Not just the black but the brightness in daylight (or bright lightings) which does not fade/dim as much as Panny. Panny really looks washed out on bright lighting.

Note that the Sammy does NOT have a S-Video input. Now i have to connect composite to a 50' and S-video to my 32'. What a waste for watching Astro.

Which one is the correct pricing? I am getting confused. rclxub.gif
RM200 difference for an 32" LCD?
