he installed the MMS installer from Cydia when he is still using 2.2.1. The MMS patch is for OS 3.0.

your DFU not working soundstream?

I've configured OS 3.0.

The MMS manages to send.. but when it reaches my friends phone, it says "unable to read msg". I wonder whats wrong... Must the MMS only be from Maxis to Maxis or can it be to another network?

Hmm.. Btw, on the custom APN setting, do we say "Yes" on the V3+MMS box?

i choosed "yes" and mine is working. dont know if it will not work if u choose "no"..

Added on June 30, 2009, 12:03 amFinally, i have the "Cellular Data Network" settings visible on my iPhone 2G.. had to follow the steps in here:

yo guys,

for xp3, there's a way to fix the 1604.

http://hubpages.com/hub/Fixing-1604-iPhone...e-Restore-Error

this is simplest without reinstall itunes or watsoever.

DiGi user here, finally after 3 hours of trying, my 2g iphone can send and receive mms (tested kaw kaw)

Sent to a Nokia and received a MMS from a Nokia/Iphone3g too. Works like a magic.

I learn that, firstly u need to be on OS 3.0 , secondly update yr ipcc ( very important or else wont work, for DiGi user your carrier must show DIGI 4.1, under Settings -> General -> About ) Then finally install the "ActivateMMS2G" from cydia and follow the instruction. I did "ssh" follow Method 2 (SSH) on the first post of this thread.

After that finally i restarted the iphone, went to the "Cellular Data Network" KaBoomm the settings all were already there. Didnt disappear.

All the best trying.

the setting did not dissapear is because the ipcc file contains that setting, so it stay put...
even, if u did the reset on the network, the setting will still be there...

how fast ur mms can sent out after u hit the send button ?... hmm.gif

alright now im sucessful to send/receive mms.
b4 that it was failes, after try several time n read thru all the forumers post so this is how i done for it.

1) installed from cydia.
2) follow miskol step create the custom APN
- use iphone go to this website www.unlockit.co.nz/#

3) To Enable Carrier Bundle Support in iTunes 8.2 (Windows)
- follow the step http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/752226
- i using iPhone_3.0_Maxis_my.ipcc.zip

after did the setting above i still hav some problem to sending out mms
refer i post ealier (post 55)

4) go to www.unlockit.co.nz/# again download the software
5) create a new profile n fill up this setting
- APN: net
Username: maxis
Password: wap

after the step 5 if still not work follow by step 6

6) go to APN
- (which is download in www.unlockit.co.nz/#)

7) full fill the setting
-Cellular Data:
APN: net
Username: maxis
Password: wap

MMS
APN: net
Username: maxis
Password: wap
MMSC: https://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc
MMS Proxy: 202.75.133.49:80
MMS Max Message Size: 307200

Hey this is great, can I confirm something

Iphone 2G 3.0 firmware after applying patch can send and receive MMS. But can I disable the Edge data connection and MMS still function. If it is OK then I will proceed to upgrade my son's 2G iphone. I do not want to have another RM250/= data bill again sad.gif.
