Hey Guys,

They finally made it work!

OK, I followed the steps here, and got it to work.

Try it at your own risk smile.gif

Always remember: Backup wink.gif

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

For starters, you have to be on OS 3.0.

Method 1 (Cydia)
1. Install the file "ActivateMMS2G" from the ispazio repo in Cydia.

Method 2 (SSH)
1. Using SSH, copy the file mms2g.deb (attached) into iphone folder, for example /var/root
2. Then in same folder (/var/root) in terminal input: dpkg -i mms2g.deb
3. Reboot.

Method 3 (SSH)
1. Extract files from Patch.zip into folders same as arhive.
2. For CommCenter chmod 755.
2. Reboot.

You can then adjust the apn, user, password, under Settings - General - Network - Cellular Data Network Settings.

No kidding. They're starting to treat iphone 2g users like ipod touch users (which i diss a lot cause they always have to pay for upgrades lololololol)

but yeah!!! great news on the 2g MMS!

Just to correct

I spoke with developers of pwnagetool (those great iPhone developers). They said its not about files , its about baseband. 3G baseband supports MMS sending directly without the need of "connecting to MMS Server" first and sending. It takes a different approach

Just a word of caution? I installed this on my iphone 2g, hit reboot, and then the iphone rebooted, see the apple logo, then it auto-shuts down again.

I had to restore it ... so yeah, backup first.

Going to try it again...
