W0ot.. Me gonna try it now
Thanks 4 the update This is awesome, mine working fine(Sending) w/out need to Toggle Edge on BossPrefs But, haven't try receive yet. Any 1 out there care to give a try? QUOTE(prasys @ Jun 27 2009, 12:41 PM) Just to correct Seems they also wrong broI spoke with developers of pwnagetool (those great iPhone developers). They said its not about files , its about baseband. 3G baseband supports MMS sending directly without the need of "connecting to MMS Server" first and sending. It takes a different approach It could send MMS w/out need to connect to Edge such SwirlyMMS do Even with Edge disable via Bossprefs, you can still Receive & Send MMS Try it yourself |

QUOTE(davidgary73 @ Jun 29 2009, 09:58 AM) I think you guys better check the Data Usage counter if it does goes up. Given that Bossprefs does not really work well at the moment while SBSettings kills all EDGE connections when it's off. You may be charged for all the MMS sent since Bosprefs did not off your EDGE connection. Yess, it should be charges but what I want to share here is, BossPrefs disable Edge so when open Safari w/out connect to Edge there it no usage but this MMS function automatically send/ receive if there is any(or is it bypass the Edge?). It only connect when you use it..Something like that.. This post has been edited by gengstapo: Jun 29 2009, 10:14 AM |

QUOTE(siqplus @ Jun 29 2009, 11:32 AM) my mistake.. I can't confirm, one thing for sure nor BossPrefs or SBSetting could stop us from sending MMS but, I feel something ain't correct with the Edge(iPhone 2G) with this patch.. Hmm after getting the maxis 4.0 (using the original maxis ipcc for 3.0 os) few hours ago, still couldnt send.. dont want to give up now as many of u guys get it right.. is it related to brospref or sbs setting? |

QUOTE(jackdon @ Jun 30 2009, 01:28 PM) Hey this is great, can I confirm something You can disable the Edge via BossPrefs/ SBSettingIphone 2G 3.0 firmware after applying patch can send and receive MMS. But can I disable the Edge data connection and MMS still function. If it is OK then I will proceed to upgrade my son's 2G iphone. I do not want to have another RM250/= data bill again jackdon The MMS will still works & it only connect to Edge when you use the MMS |

QUOTE(miskol @ Jun 30 2009, 02:14 PM) i've tested it, my first picture, i forgot that my EDGE(gprs) was enabled... after sending the MMS i checked that my data counter increased. then i disabled my EDGE connection using SBSettings(install in from Cydia), and try sending picture again, this time the data counter did not increased and the picture is also successfully sent. No, it is not like thatso in my opinion, you SHOULD disable EDGE connection before sending MMS pictures. because if u enable it, u would have to pay the MMS charge + the data charga for EDGE. am i right? p/s: my usual way to check EDGE is disabled is by trying to refresh my mail inbox, i will get "Cannot Get Mail" error if my EDGE is off. The patch working differently No matter how you disable the Edge, it will connect IT when you use the MMS Ive been monitoring it since yesterday.. Need to use SBSetting to monitor the Edge connection coz, even it connected when you using MMS, you still can't browse Mail/ Safari. Its like working but w/out internet connection.. Something like that.. I don't know how to describe.. |

QUOTE(lchee @ Jul 2 2009, 11:16 AM) Whenever I send out MMS or receive MMS, i notice my data usage records something, but it's small. Something like 20KB to 30KB for each MMS sent. I did turn off my EDGE setting in my iphone 2G. Is this normal? Shall be normal I guess as we the i2G user require Edge to send/ receive MMSSame apply when we still on SwirlyMMS |
