Do anyone know how many units will be allowed to purchase at the same in in Vodafone store? I'll be in Australia soon and I'm just wondering the limit number of iPhone 3GS per person is.

Might drop by and have a look since it's not too far away from my place. i would love to go to be honest, but i have a half past 9 paper that very same day. but i'm still hallucinating about going for the launch; so much so, that i have 2 separate appointments for the optus launch, 12am - 3am and 3am - 6am

if we unlock vodafone iphone officially by paying aud50, it will be a one-and-only-procedure-for-lifetime, or we have to do it everytime we restore/upgrade the firmware?

@kwekeugene, I wasn't aware until a couple of days ago that you're now in Australia! Haf fun @ the launch yah?! @nokia2003, Message from Mom: EXAM comes first. I didn't send U to Australia for the iPhone. I sent U to get an Education! @cloudeen, It's a 1 time fee but the unlock process may take a couple of days, sometimes week. "We know you are only part way through your 24 month plan so because you pre-registered for iPhone info we're offering you the chance to upgrade to the new Apple iPhone 3G S and we will discount 20% off your early upgrade fees from your current mobile plan when you take up a new 24 month iPhone plan.† "

Refer to http://vodafone.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/vodaf...hp?p_faqid=2909 for unlocking fee. Assuming unlock within 6 months via online, this costs 75. Price of prepaid is 1129. So total is 1204 So i guess it is still better to get from Optus (Cap 19 12 months contract) for a total cost of 1140 (where unlock is free).

Optus is under SingTel (Spore) so i assume SingTel bringing in soon...(July 09) wish that SingTel will have competitive price tag compare to Optus nor Vodaphone.

@terencetoo, Both Singapore & Malaysia's release is slated for the same time. As to pricing, we're all eager beavers too! This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jun 25 2009, 01:35 PM

Just read the whirlpool forum.. Most of them confirm it true by calling the apple store. If it is true, I wish it will go ol like HK store so that I can buy it since im living in perth and no apple store here. sigh.
This is really2 cheap price for AUD879.. Guess I need help someone from Melb or sydney to buy it for me now.
