Make sure he/she make a booking at the apple store because they say the outright/unlock will be limited at first. If you can get one, just buy it since AUD879~MYR2500 is really cheap. even cheaper than the current 3g iPhone that Maxis offer. The only concern that you should have is the warranty since it is only applicable to the country of purchase. As we know, the first batch of iPhone 3G S will highly likely to have some problem as other Apple product. Altho Apple will take care of it, but it is really a hassle if you need to return it back to OZ.

But yeah, if it is true, I might get one on my trip to Sydney next 2 weeks.

Seriously, I'd rather wait for 2 more weeks to see my options, HK, S'pore or Malaysia which I doubt we'll get that kind of pricing here in our home country.... At least I don't have to worry on the warranty.... they don't have ACP on iPhone yet...
