Anyone here going for the midnight launch? Might drop by and have a look since it's not too far away from my place.

Spoke to someone from the Vodafone outlet in Crown Casino in Melbourne about buying the 3GS outright. I have been told that 1 name is entitled to 5 units and you can pay either by cash or credit card. "If you give us 3 names, we'll sell you 15 units" This were the exact words from the store representative.

neekun,
Your set is with me now. Activated and tested with DiGi sim. There isn't any lines around here. Though there are quite a number of ppl at the Chadstone store. Added on June 26, 2009, 12:53 pmUpdate: 1 credit card is limited to 5 units of iPhone per day. That means you can come in another day and get another 5 units. I got a really hard time at the getting the GST refund from the Australian side. Here are a few tips that you could use.
1. Make sure you get the ORIGINAL tax invoice, not the duplicate. I got a duplicate on mine since one of the Store machines jammed and couldn't print out mine. 2. Make sure your NAME and ADDRESS is on that tax invoice as I have been told purchases valued more than AUD $1000 will need your address on it. 3. Carry the items with you (don't check in) as they will want to have a look at it. 4. The person claiming the GST must be the person who bought the item. My officer matched the name on the invoice to my passport. Of course, you might get a officer who is more lenient and wouldn't mind too much on a few small things. Good luck! |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jul 1 2009, 12:22 PM) Yup, but the Store receipt will not feature your Address on it by default. And the Store will also assure you that the GST claim is possible using a duplicate tax invoice but your luck may vary with the officer. |

I was at Doncaster this morning. By opening they easily had 300. When I left at 11am,they was still plenty of stock. Saw a guy purchase a phone using cash only so I'm not sure how they are gonna impose the 2 per person rule.
