thanks nokia2003 for the head up for Optus plan for iphone 3gs

the price seems ok..i just wonder how the upgrade system will b look like

QUOTE(al3p @ Jun 22 2009, 02:37 PM)
true, Optus is good in term of the plan offered but then if only I still have one year left in my visa lol. Anyway, just wanna add tethering is supported by Optus for 9.99 access fee per month and then u can choose between 2GB or 6GB for 24.99 or 44.99 respectively.
the 9.99 charge only be waived for customer with 99 timeless plan.

out of topic tho, I really hope they can open an apple store here in WA. It is about time so that I dont have to wait for 2 weeks to get my iphone fixed.
*
i think u can still sign up for 1 year contract even ur visa is below 1 year..thts wat i heard when im 1st signing up for iphone 3g..
at 1st i plan to sign up for 24 months n my visa only for 1.6 years..they said i stil lcan sign up for 24months but i need pay remaining months b4 my visa expired..so is like if u have 6 months left after ur visa expired, then u need pay the 6months fees in 1 time...

i know that it is being stipulated in their website, but until it is in black and white, i wouldn't harbour my wish on them 100%

just like the 3G version, there were so much rumours that '3' will carry it and it turns out to be some hocus pocus.

but if '3' were to carry the iPhone 3G S, it is likely for it to have the best deal in the market.
*
ya..but for me, 3 don have a good coverage in my apartment

their plans look good but i got fren encounter many prob with them..1 of it is overcharge.
like he using $29cap but when bill comes,it show more than $29 coz of over usage.but he nvr make many calls.2 hands also can count how many calls he have made in 1 month
n same goes to broadband..sign up for 3gb n nvr download any things.just normal use.n got keep track the usage but when bill comes, need to pay around $200 coz exceed usage.call them to clarify but they keep direct the call to other departments but end up nth can do about it..occur 2 times de

in the end they said upgrade to 6gb plan to avoid n don have better explanation from them...

i'm quite disappointed with optus's price release actually. mayb due to the expectation i have from the earlier leaked prices..haha..
am now currently thinking of getting the virgin 16gb old iphone 3g. its on 45 cap for 24months. the plans suits me coz it have only 50mb data per month and alot of call time. i planning to use my uni's wifi so i guess its ok.
the problem is i kinda wanted 3gs but if all other carrier's pricing is similar to optus i dont think i'll get one(optus cap plan doesnt include international calls which is a big minus for me).
the virgin's offer is limited so i'm not sure if i should wait. what do you guys think? just extra opinions for me to consider.
*
i guess if u wan international call then i believe 3 is the only choice for u since they included international call in their cap..
if optus then u need sign up for another extra international pack which is $5,$10 n $15..b4 tht i sign up for $5 but then i cancel de coz i got skype..
n i can use my gf's 3 to make international call if i wan since she not rly use much

You know what will be great? If 3 release iPhone with free Skype like their Skype phone. You can directly call through skype without using your download data. Lot of my friends use skype phone and they never exceed the skype minutes even on 39 cap
*
i got heard about it but nvr rly bother..
3 provide them free credits from skype to call anywhr or just skype to skype call?

well those were rumours, but this time its out on their front page and the customer care people have confirmed it when i spoke with them over the phone. its also reported in the news. previously, of course there were lots of hoo haa, but there was nothing official about it. definitely agree with you that they will probably have one of the best deals.
three's coverage aint the best, but they definitely have improved on it. when you first sign-up with three you should be aware that your first bill is charged on a pro-rata basis. its all in the fine print.

mobile broadband cap is inclusive of downloads and uploads.
*
bah...tht is not 1st bill anyway...

n broadband i know is inclusive of dl n ul...but both add together also not above 2gb...

but he not a 1st case though..i heard many prob from other ppl about tht too

i read many good reviews from whirlpool about new iphone 3gs..especially the extreme fast loading..n all nvr regret from upgrade 3g to 3gs..
but the thing is the white colour iphone is a bit yellowish ..
quoted from 1 of iphone 3gs:
"have also noticed the white colour does have a yellowish tinge, not crisp white"

Added on June 26, 2009, 10:48 amn personal review from another user:

# Much faster, the claims are right. Much more satisfying to use when everything comes up instantly, no keyboard stutter. Web rendering noticably improved.
# Seemed to load content onto the device faster than usual, took about 15 mins for the full 16GB that I had on my old device
# Video is extremely smooth – this is a huge step above most choppy phone camera video I've seen despite it "only" being VGA resolution. The 30fps really is great to play-back even for fast movement.
# The google maps orientation is nice, not really that useful to be honest but I'm sure 3rd parties will come up with uses for it.
# I'm enjoying using the headphones with volume control built in. Music starts up INSTANTLY when you push the button on the headphones even when the device is in standby. There really is very very little time spent waiting with this device.

So far when following Apple Discussions Forum, the major issue with 3GS is yellowish screen :

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...048495&tstart=0

However, not all are exhibiting the same level of "yellowness". For me a warmer color tone is acceptable and in fact Apple did acknowledge that the new 3GS screen has a warmer color tone. But some users are getting very yellowish screen which is not OK and most of them got a replacement.

oic..but the good reviews makes me feel like fork out $500 to upgrade to new iphone..but "financial crisis" here tongue.gif
