i haven't installed the FPR. my friend said its no need unless u have done major modification eg: high cam, pnp, oversized piston etc. but he's not driving gen2 after all. smile.gif

then he recommend me to use this electronic throttle control. but the thing is i didnt find any gen2 owner that give a review about this product. huhu..
*
ok this is my point of view...

for standard normal car yes u can get it installed but i wouldnt really recommend...the differences wouldnt be big...so when would i recommend it to be installed? after u've changed ur header/extractor to 4-2-1...

this is because by then u have actually started to change a big part of the exhaust system...trust me when i say once u change ur header u will get a lot of improvement on the pickup and response...

once u have tempered with the exhaust system, the fueling system would not be optimized...the standard fuel pressure is at 3.5 bar...from my experience with campro engine, the ideal pressure for campro roughly between 3.7-4.0 bar depends on many factors like body weight, rim size etc...

well u could do more research or try read from here as i've made longer postings before...

how much for electronic controller that just controls the throttle respond? RM500 vs an FPR which cost RM480 complete with installation and throttle adjust and u get better fuel efficiency and good throttle respond...

errr 480 if u did with me in seremban...central area can get cheaper around 300+ but the respond is different and i know few tuners raise the fpr up until 5 bars which is ridiculous...so be wise la spending ur money...

another piece of advice...if possible DO NOT mess with any of the wiring...if something goes wrong it will be a headache to troubleshoot...i know...i;ve experienced it...

well like i said up to buyer's preferences...

whether u wanna refer to someone who is actually driving a campro for solid 4 years and hungry for performance or u wanna refer to salesperson who wanna sell products...

of course some of the salesperson is very knowledgeable with good explanation on technical terms etc which i dont have...my selling point is only my experience and my right foot... laugh.gif

where can u get the fd 4.6? aftermarket fd 4.8 and priced around 1200-1500 fd only not including labor...

talking bout worth it or not i guess using mivec gearbox is a whole lot better...the ratio compared with exora of course exora has some advantage at 1st gear but where the hell can you find exora gearbox la...i've been looking around a month ago and fail to get one...

if u want to custom the fd then it might be an option la but the cost would be high...i dunno how much it would be but for a ready made 4.8fd the price is around 1200-1500 so i guess if u were to custom it then u should be prepared to burn some hole in ur wallet...

almost comparable to k&n in terms of design but material wise i'm not so sure...performance wise i'd say k&n wins...the best performance so far would be pipercross...

u definately will feel performance increase, very good, FC also good, no restriction what so ever on intake...and cheap too compared to KNN filter...

BUT..

the filteration is POOR, i've used before...travel around 1000+ km and my throttle body already covered by layer of dust..

now i use back stock air filter...

sponge vs 3m scrubber...

pipercross is a sponge base filter

k&n is a metal mesh base...

from above pics which one allows greater amount of air in?

BUT for sponge base after few washes u could see the material started to peel off right? so lifespan for pipercross not that good as compared to k&n eventho both could withstand the lifespan up until 100000km
