hi all ....

i just got my gen2 mc3 m-line today ....

come in and join you all smile.gif (been following this thread and cps thread well before buying this gen2)

i've driven gen2 campro before (my aunty) now compared to my campro cps .. wah .. really good the response smile.gif but first time driving it feel all quite heavy ... (except for fuel pedal .. lol)

no wonder la .. i'm driving old saga before this gen2 .... smile.gif

got voucher for tinted ... but no budget to go for one yet ...

QUOTE
anyone has try electronic throttle control for campro? is it worth it to install to our gen2?

is the lag really noticeable ? not obvious for me at all .. but what can i say been driving for less than a day only ... tongue.gif

some sc can do alignment...your car still very new, can go to sc that have alignment service, if u complaint for misalignment they will not charge u....
*
hmmm. later ask around which sc got alignment that i can go. if not, have to go glenmarie (the sa told me). not that bad, but not going straight ... lol.

today try top speed. reach 160km/h ... not dare enough .... haha. not full throttle yet ....

before this did try 160km/h in proton saga (my previous car), really scare the shit out of me ... with steering not stable .. and lots of vibration.

gen2 is great at 160km/h ... later if got time try full throttle ... but i dont think dare enough yet ... tongue.gif

i read in manual book, best fc speed is 110km/h for campro cps ? is it true ? really nice for cruise speed on highway.

last time i tried, maintain 110km/h @ ~3100RPM on 100% highway can get 5.5L/100km both from estimate calculation and on board computer readings... at that time, i'm using Petronas Primax3 (RON97)

i'd say that's pretty good...
*
really? currently dont have the right time to test cruising at 100km/h speed. later balik kampung for raya can test .... hope not jam pack again at highway smile.gif

QUOTE(PrinceCaspien @ Aug 10 2010, 06:45 PM)
160 still can overtake other cars, try 220, your heart will be cold....smile.gif
*
haha. never experience 200+ km/h yet. dunno la ..... tabik la you all who drive faster than me smile.gif

i have been demo on car break in few weeks ago. it's done on my car, gen2 cps m-line.

they able to open the front bonnet, without any scratch .... then open fuse box, remove the horn fuse... done. all is left is signal blinking... but no sound.

they want to proceed to unlock the door, but i said no need ... as i need to rush fetch my gf ...

but really ah ... so simple the job. like this i also can do ....

wow ... like this an aftermarket alarm is a must. though i really like viper/clifford alarm ... they're expensive.

really - really not safe to left anything in the car ...

ya. kancil car. cheap to run around tongue.gif

if want to install captor, the price is rm 1600++ i think .... for proton car. others is 2100++.

i read that captor will sms you on phone to let you know when there is a break in into your car.

not enough budget for captor, might want to go cheaper way, put cheap handphone in car and do friendfinder (telco can pinpoint the location too)

But first, want to put something to block thief from opening the front bonnet ... and also make it harder to open the fuse box.

to improve side blind spot:

change side mirrors with latest design for persona happy.gif

put small mirrors
*
yups. straight i buy the small wide mirror to aid me with the pathetic side mirror ... it cost me rm10 (but if you buy from carrefour, rm 3++ only .. duh!)

also considering upgrade to persona side mirror .... smile.gif (but my gf always says no to any upgrade/mod because she says the standard one already good looking!)

is it the small round mirror (1.5-2.5" diameter) that sticks?

so basically for better visibilty need to buy:

- bigger rear mirror (the one that clips on top on the current rear mirror - rectangular shape)
- small wide side mirror
*
rear mirror is up to personal preference .. i dont need it. though, a reverse camera might be better smile.gif

yups ... those small round mirror ... got few types, i prefer the adjustable one (can rotate 360).

Mineral?lagila bising..not sluggish ar bro?coz i've tried fully syn before change to semi. With the fully syn, engine not much noise + KL-Taiping RM50 petrol enuf. After changed to semi syn, engine noise increased and KL-Taiping arnd RM70.Was maintaining same speed for both trip. sweat.gif
*
I am eager to try Fully Syn but I'm with the mindset "must change oil every 5k km" so kind of waste if go for fully syn .... lol.

Is our Gen2 is actually low... I mean ground clearance .... More than a dozen times already sangkut at speed bump ... but those speed bump also higher than usual ...

Still... I think standard car should've no problem with speed bump ... If change to stiffer spring (or adjustable) will void warranty (for the parts involved) ... but cant tahan la ... Car is standard but need to take speed bump sideways like lowered car ...

yeah gen2 is low. make sure u use tyre 55 and above
*
it is the standard 195/55/15 (persona is 195/60/15) ... should i go and fit 60 series tire to try out ?

QUOTE(ameque @ Nov 6 2010, 02:32 PM)
hi guys,

wanna ask a few questions:

1. time to change engine oil. currently using castrol magnatex, but want to try bardhal semi-sny . anyone tried it before?

2. planning to install front and rear lower strut. trying to find zenden brand. tried calling and sms the Kent guy but no reply. anywhere else i can buy (selayang /gombak/kepong area)?

3. i have to topup water in coolent box once a week. is this normal or need to go check?

im drivin gen2 2005 manual btw. thanx in advance.
*
1. i like castrol magnatec smile.gif

as u know that persona is an improved version of gen2, yes, maybe for the next tyre change u should look for 195/60/15
*
QUOTE(yngwie @ Nov 7 2010, 04:00 PM)
195/60/15 will give a comfortable ride. but this will be depend on the tires choice too; either with soft or hard sidewall.
195/55/15 will be more towards a composed handling.

btw, anyone selling gen2 brake system(disc and caliper)? prefer all 4 side. need it for a small project.
thank you.
*
my problem is that ground clearance is low ... not always lah ... sometime when ride with full 4 ppl onboard. even when only 3 ppl also i manage to sangkut at those speed bump (the one that is super high one ... but normally standard car no problem passing it)

not even reach 10k km yet .... haha. next tire change is not too soon .. guess gonna live with sideways passing speed bump for a while ... haha.

maelzx - if the speed bump is high then just have to bear with it la bro...pakai tayar tebal x semestinya solve problem ko makin semak nnt adala...why? standard profile is 55...change to thicker 60 series silap2 kang power loss, naik 3-4 orang sangkut fender, daun pisang koyak etc etc...

since u did mention 'super high one' with load of 3-4 persons right?
*
ya .... damn speed bump! damn the builder for not following standard .... so the better solutions is to change to harder spring ? or adjustable .... which i have no budget and not really an option as of right now ... haha .. tapi berangan nak tukar rim ... tongue.gif
