Hi gen2 user's , i'm planning to buy second gen2 year 2004/2005 but i heard most gen2 owners having a lot of problems with this car . Is it true gen2 caused a lot of problems and maintenance quite high?

there's another reason what for using auto...could benefit during traffic jams or if the driver is physically challenged and cant drive a manual car...driving an auto doesnt mean u are lazy to use the gearing well tongue.gif

anyway with regards to SAFC etc...like sphiroth said no significant improvement just engine smoother...so why waste money again n again n again...strengthen ur engine capability first until one point ur ecu cant cope with it oni u opt for a better piggyback or management la bro...just a friendly advice la...its more worth it
*
im lazy to use my gearing lar.. mostly use 3 & D only..

btw, yea i found it no use fitting an SAFC into my car since i dont feel vibration like sphiroth.. can cruise comfortably at any speed.. i dunno how to strengthen anymore aside from putting in hi comp pistons.. how about this? CLICK ME

I'm also using a year 2004 Gen-2 (first batch version with the "original" ECU) brows.gif
I bought it about 2 years ago under second hand.

Maintenance wise - 200$ per service (spare part, bought from shop; service at Proton Authorized centre)

Problem till date: roof, fuel pedal, wiring, horn.
Most of the problem is due to wear and tear (except the roof vmad.gif ). Will repair the roof later tongue.gif
Other than that, some of the cost come because of ichy hand laugh.gif

There is no such thing as "zero problem" and there are also no such thing as "alot of problem". The key to buying a second hand car is to ensure that the car is in relatively good conditions before you purchase it.

hey guys,

my car battery just went dead on me. had to replace it in the middle of the night. it was so expensive! how much did you guys change yours for? and is it advisable to buy spare car battery and keep at home in case you need one in times of emergency?

don't stock battery in your house la.
wet cell is better than free maintenance batt.
usually battery can last 2 years.
