hi,im new to pets wonderland forum..im normally only in "stuff for the ladies"..can i ask u/anyone here this Q..hopefully one of the mmbers is a vet..

i have a female kitten (domestic short fur) about 4 months old. she was an active kitten who eats well. however, since 3 days back, i noticed a mass at the lower right quadrant of her abdomen which is palpable, soft to firm, tender, mobile and oval in shape about 1X2cm,well defined margins, non pulsatile, no visible peristalsis w no loss of hair or skin changes over the swelling.

there is also history of loss of apetite and loss of weight within this 2-5 days. she is unusually quiet n inactive also since 2 days back n hisses whenever we tried to touch her abdomen.and does not have any bowel or bladder symptoms. why is this? is she okay?

tx so much..i really need the answer ASAP..

please help me

Hi Sifus!! Please help to identify which kind of Kucings are those :-

DLH or DSH ? Persians Mix ???

Some questions :

(1) Can we kurung 2 stranger kitten at a same cage ? will they fight ?

if they are still young like 1-2 month, its possible, but its not advisable to put them together if they are much older, they might not be familiar and fight(especially male to male which are not spayed)...also to prevent spread of disease in the early introductory stage...

(2) Can they use the same litter box ?

some cats don't like to share, but some they don't mind, but for hygiene usually recommended to separate it also for the disease prevention..
my 2 cats share the same litter box, no problem at all...

(3) I plan to kurung the kucing inside the toilet with cage when I first bring them to my condo. So, they will know their poo and pee is inside toilet. What u all think?

dont do that, put them in the cage and put them at some comfortable place, toilet might be too stuffy...
in the cage, put a litter box and they will learn (suppose ur cat is still very young)...its not that hard to litter trained them...
spend time to put them on the litter box and they will slowly learn...rather than make them get used to the toilet then next time they will share the toilet with u haha...

(4) If they are litter train at the previous place and i bring them to new place, do u think i need to retrain them to litter? Can i buy a new litter box for them or what?

just get them a new litter box and show them where it is...they might not know where it is...
show them the location of the box n make sure they do it in the box then next time they know its there and can smell it...

(5) Kesian or not kurung them inside toilet for time being ? will they get cold ?

dont do that, toilet is wet and stuffy and hot also...there are also toilet bowl (what if the kitten fall in), sink...etc..
out them in the cage and someplace conformtable..

p.s. still looking for kucing *LOL*

- try to find at http://www.petfinder.my/listings.htm or the adoption page (http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/443156/+560)

Hi everyone,

My Hedgehog died a few months back and i've been a bit lonely. Now i am looking for a new pet so i was thinking of maybe a kitten.

I got a few questions i want to ask though about kitty care.

1. Do they piss all over the house? Or can they be trained to be hygneic and how hard is it ?

2. Is it safe to let the cat to roam outside the house or will it run away or get knocked down by a car ?

3. Tips for feeding them.

4. 2 of my family members are allergic to cats. Is it still possible to have a cat for a pet ?

5. Anything else important i should know about ?

1. Do they piss all over the house? Or can they be trained to be hygneic and how hard is it ? = You need to buy litter box and litter for that cat to poo and pee.

2. Is it safe to let the cat to roam outside the house or will it run away or get knocked down by a car ? = Obviously indoor cat are much more safer than outdoor cat. interm of health, indoor cat are much more healthier than outdoor cat.

3. Tips for feeding them. = commercial food at the petshop + clean water smile.gif

4. 2 of my family members are allergic to cats. Is it still possible to have a cat for a pet ? = If i were you, better don't... you might not want to have cat just half way and suddenly have to release it. Find other pet which has no trouble to your allergic family. maybe FISH smile.gif

seriously you need a VET.. it is impossible to answer your problem, it may relate to 3-4 kind of sickness/disease. while keep on waiting for answer, you better bring your cat to the nearest vet for fully check up before it is too late.

sorry to hear bout the pain.

by nature cats will buried their poo and pee.. so they know how to use it.

if you have problem with it, u need to introduce them to it.. if so, most people will cage their cat with litter box few days for them to get used to it. smile.gif

while most cat will know where to do the business.

dont throw the kitten away..all this can be trained and needs patience...
put the kitten in a cage with a small litter box....
the kitten will learn...

if ur fren got no patience with a kitten at this stage, then she probably cant take it when he/she gets older and need to go for post-spaying caring etc....

1. Can be trained, if their parents are using litter box already, mostly they'll naturally use litter box as well since little without any training.

2. Indoor is pretty much preferred for safety and healthy concern

3. Kitten premium food made from only meats with high protein.

4. This one is a BIG problem, have you talked to them? Don't look and this thing half half. It is not a good experience when your cats are not accepted in his/her environment that she/he has to find another alternative. It might stress you everyday too. Think twice.
