its okay, but not for me when i push it to the limit since i travel touge/trunk roads a lot. smile.gif

aiya... trunk road you must not use extreme tires more dangerous...
light drizzling also dangerous... but all tires purchase is very personal indeed...

hahaha.. i couldn't stop laughing.. PP2. Pilot Power 2.

Anyway, PP2 vs T1R or A-Drive R1? Can this 3 tires be compare together?
*
it exist noob tongue.gif Pilot Power dun be mad, just kidding. i know wat is pp2 smile.gif but i make you two heppi, so all good i guess.
QUOTE(michael9413 @ Aug 12 2009, 09:42 AM)
Pilot Preceda 2 which is the lowest in Pilot Range... don get cheated by its thread look... it is pretty good...

225/45/R18
Michelin PP2 - RM770
Falken ZE 912 RM575 at Continental sungai besi hi-way near U-turn (Date ???)
Bridgestone Potenza RE050 (Japan) - RM960.00 - CN TWO SERVICES Ulu Klang (24/3/2009)
Michelin PP2 - RM690, Goodyear Jalan Tiong hua, Kluang April 09
hmmm... y T1R b4 PP2??? i asked some of the shops b4... they said side thread wore off quite fast for that...
have not try that... PP2 thread wear ok la... around 35k km... you have to rotate it every 3 month or so...
it lasted me around 1yr and 3 months... i did around 30k km... i drove to SG 3 times and KL-Ipoh-Penang monthly... smile.gif
A Drive R1(Performance only) cannot compare with that 2 different Categories... PP2 and T1R is UHP...

BTW i live at Kelana Jaya that time... do U-turn a lot... so wearing on the left must monitor...

thx for help. but how about eagle f1? compared to potenza re040 ( using it now ), how the performance?

so far on 15" rim i've used...

nct5 < cct-1 < pp2

pp2 has vr normal looking thread... but it performs well due to its material and hard sidewall... pp2 quite predictable, though so far i havent driven it to the limits on the street...

comfort contact 1... predictable tyres as well... but grip is less than pp2... used to drive it till its limits...

nct5... quite bad... had a horrible accident due to it... once it loses grip, it skids like nobody business... and once it locks up, no traction at all...

bro NCT Family very bad la... don buy that... most of the GY lower family is not good...
the top range family is good... like GY Eagle F1 & F1 Assy... that is different story...
if you wan to have comfort and you are using 55 series for R15 and above... you can give Hankook V12 a try...
it is directional thread and you have to bear with the noise as is it louder than PP2 if both in NEW...
otherwise it's grip nearly on par with PP2 in Dry and Wet condition... aquaplaning is around 90% if PP2...
price wise it is quite cheap indeed if i compare my size 195/55 R15 the difference is RM50... so quite ok lo...

I just change CC1 onto VW golf 1.6l... not bad in general but i got know that the tires sometimes will have problem...
it is side wall become uneven (bulge) if you hit a lot of potholes... so careful lo...
as i'm not driving this car long distance so it is ok...

Yes Hankook, it is like Falken 912 in price range but better in handling and also it is directional thread... RM185 for 195/55 R15...
not bad in term of performance vs price ration as PP2 at that size will cost you around RM240...
you can try Primacy LC also from Michelin as the price range is around RM210...
Hankook is cheapest but the cons is directional thread tends to creates more vocal than 2 of the Michelin PP2 and Primacy LC...
Michelin have the good reputation in my heart as this Hankook V12 set that i'm using is the 1st set out of Michelin...
It give me good confidence to corners until now in dry and wet also... not hard cornering... around 80km/h kua...
PP2 give me more confidence indeed on handling and cornering... Aquaplaning also it is the best in the UHP range...
trust me... PP2 will give you all they have even you reach the safety marks...
My SEG PP2 once pass the safety mark i still drive around even heavy rains...
although not pass 80km/h but it still give you the grip...

not sure... but there are still stock...
what i mean is the GY lower range tire is not good for driving...
for slow slow driving ok... but like city driving is not alrite... coz our cruising speed is quite fast...
it does not give you the gripping that you need during you brake hard...

Wow, thanks bro! That's a wealth of information.

Anyway, the mere mention of "noise" or "more noisier than x-brand" will trigger a small alarm in me. Since I really want a quieter tire than my current Bridgestone Potenza RE080 (stock from Toyota).

So any ranking of quietness from Yokohama to Falken to Hankook to Michelin?
