actually, i doubt they will be able to tell what API or oil viscocity tat we're using unless they go and do the trials.

higher viscocity will make ur engine feel heavier due to thicker oil. your engine needs more energy to move the oil around the entire engine block. best to keep to the recommended 10-30w oils. 5-30w is also ok as well when the engine is new because of the tighter tolerance.

using 10-30w will allow u to rev easier and also save fuel on the long run because your engine is moving is lesser effort. smile.gif

hey guy; i think u got it wrong sweat.gif

the front digit/figure or the oil doesnt mean the weight of the oil le. its the operating temp of the oil at cold start.

n the front figure is usually applied in cold countries and for us; makes non much of a difference.

below link to some oil info.
http://www.driverstechnology.co.uk/oils.htm

QUOTE
In a 10w-40 for example the 10w bit (W = winter, not weight or watt or anything else for that matter) simply means that the oil must have a certain maximum viscosity/flow at low temperature. The lower the "W" number the better the oils cold temperature/cold start performance.

The 40 in a 10w-40 simply means that the oil must fall within certain viscosity limits at 100 degC. This is a fixed limit and all oils that end in 40 must achieve these limits. Once again the lower the number the thinner the oil, a 30 oil is thinner than a 40 oil at 100 degC etc.

wtf!! very pissed man.

Today I get my new waja cps, the car got so many problems.
1. dashboard the leather not fitted correctly can see foldings around the curve and the worst part is that there is hold in the fu*king dashboard leather. Failed QC and PDI.
Their solution: wait for proton offical to come check the car and then only see when to help me fix it

2. then inner trim panel on the passenger side have some paint peel off.
Their solution: wait for proton offical to come check the car and then only see when to help me fix it

3. the triangle cover's color on both the back passenger door is totally washed out.
Their solution: spray black paint.

4. glove box/arm rested is very shaky like not fitted correct.
Their solution: check and say it is like that, cannot be fix. wtf?

5. the rear windscreen got alot of wash out mark (looks like kena rusty water). Cannot be remove via normal wiping.
Their solution: polish and use solvent, clean most of it but still have some.

6. Exhaust pipe look rusted.
Their solution: nothing they can do. wtf?

Really disappointed with proton. Now want to apply tint also cannot, coz have to wait for them to fix my dashboard first.

I will never buy another god damn muthafarking proton. First and last.

for us NA;

usually ppl stick to 40; but u can try 30; but always monitor ur oil level. if by the end of the 5k interval service time frame n ur oil level is still quite full den u can go ahead to use it.

some engine tends to burn off the oil easily sweat.gif

depends on the engine condition as well. newer engine n those that are well kept should have no issues with 30 weight oils.

I have a question about petrol, is that true Petronas Primax 3 is more suitable for our CPS engine than other petrol brand? Currently i'm stick to Shell. hmm.gif

Nope, Shell better.. Also fuel meter more accurate! nod.gif

But I'm using EssoMobil now, better economy..juz lack the 'ooomph' when wana CPS~
Nowadays always stuck in KL jam, so RM50 for 280KM is better than RM50 for 240KM (Shell) or 225KM (Petronas) right?

Any petrol will do. CPS engine is not like baby stomach, it won't diarrhea if takes the wrong milk. So no worry.

Blame it on the start stop traffic laaaa..... tekan abit then jam.... tak sampai 4k rpm 2nd gear already traffic in front. If you try do constant highway 110Km/h I bet can reach 380KM full tank.

Not much of a difference because a full tank of vpower gave me about 800km while primax 680km (100% highway driving at constant (almost tongue.gif) 110km/h).

mix city+hway drive if full tank shell i can go up to ard 480-500km.. full tank petronas can go ard 450-470km... mix up vpower + hijau (i.e rm 30 vpower then tmr fill up shell hijau until full tank) can go 510-530km... but then now i can only get ard 450km using shell and 430km using petronas.. hmm.gif
