I just ordered a Waja CPS in Black. May be getting the car next week. Any things to look out for? but the butt is still super ugly. arh. but overall a very well packaged car. everything also got. my first proton car. hope won't be disappointed.
*
you can always go for the 'bmw' looks. the tail light changes are very obvious and they kinda looks nice on the waja.

i feel the speed around 3.0k rpm lol ... but my SA say got twice CPS cutover .. forgot which rpm adi

my prob so far ..

- got one small black dot on my bonet (can request to touch up ? coz look very stupid lol onli a small dot )

- steering vibrate after 100km/h

- when road uneven, can hear back there got sound ... not sure window sound or wat @@

so far tis one i got lol. use 1 week d

Added on June 3, 2009, 9:51 amany1 frequent visit SC before 1st service 1k mileage ? wat u all change ?
*
touch up can be done.. complain to SA soon. dun wait until 1k service. coz they can always brush off as 'it happened after owner took the car'

- steering vibrate can solve with balancing

- sound are all around.. dolby waja/gen2 surround.. biggrin.gif but do pin point the location then apply solution to it. hear carefully wat type of noise first. sometimes if wheel sound, can be lesser after alignment is done properly. tats what i felt..

halo everyone.. been quiet for a while already...

i find my CPS choking a bit under high rev from 4krpm to 5krpm on 2nd and 3rd gear. is it becoz the spark plugs giving way? my car now 7.2k mileage. 2nd service done but no change spark plugs.

by the way, i just found out that the spark plugs are the 'small' head type. the normal 21mm plug removers can't even slide into the spark plug 'tunnel'. need to get smaller sockets to remove the spark plugs. whew!

Added on June 23, 2009, 6:47 pmadd: choking like gasping for air... air filter checked and seems clean. still using ori paper filter...

Which one good setting for aircond in terms of fc

A) temperature set at 25C and fan at medium speed

B) temperature set at 16C and fan at lowest speed

any comment and suggestion...tq notworthy.gif
*
try not to set below 20c (if u know the temp) with medium fan level. too cold sucks up power coz ur compressor keep going non stop. i dont think it will freeze up if too low temp. smile.gif

actually, i doubt they will be able to tell what API or oil viscocity tat we're using unless they go and do the trials.

higher viscocity will make ur engine feel heavier due to thicker oil. your engine needs more energy to move the oil around the entire engine block. best to keep to the recommended 10-30w oils. 5-30w is also ok as well when the engine is new because of the tighter tolerance.

using 10-30w will allow u to rev easier and also save fuel on the long run because your engine is moving is lesser effort. smile.gif

hey guy; i think u got it wrong sweat.gif

the front digit/figure or the oil doesnt mean the weight of the oil le. its the operating temp of the oil at cold start.

n the front figure is usually applied in cold countries and for us; makes non much of a difference.

below link to some oil info.

wow... awesome info. probably i'm explaining it the wrong way.. haha.. thanks though.

depends on the engine condition as well. newer engine n those that are well kept should have no issues with 30 weight oils.

no la.. its the right foot.. hahah..

450 to 480km is average for me too. my speed average is only 50-60kmh daily city driving. so, as u can guess... mainly city dirving is not good for cps.. its needs to ROAR!!

looks can be deceiving... attitude can be deceiving as well...

myself.. i like to do the sprint if i'm at the front row on redlight with no bl**dy motorbikes cutting queue.. hehehe... its a wicked side of me.

i'm always happy and obliged for a quick sprint at the red lights.. haha.. mostly from 0-100kmh then stop already... if the other bugger wants to reach top speed, i will let him overtake.. kekeke...

If you'r going to Malacca, use the Muar 2nd bridge. There's a lot of traffic light with almost empty road. brows.gif

yep. muar 2nd bridge road is good. not much vehicles. but the road very uneven there... good for fast sprint actions! flex.gif

avanray, thnx for the info.

I'm thinking of replacing the spark plugs during the 10k service. will KIV this for the time being.

The cables will still use back stock for another 2-3 years then only replace probably with R3. i believe thats when the cables it starts to degrade.

just bought the air filter K&N. will get it next tuesday or wed. then replace n cuba cuba. hehe..

walauweh, so many problems on waja cps meh? i booked one last sunday, the salesman said proton has fixed those minor problems under the new management.damn, i've been tricked
*
well, look on the bright side. the problems if minor can still be rectified during initial services. I'm sure the other brand cars will suffer minor problems with the cars as well. anyhow, its still a good buy for a car that's below RM60k. rolleyes.gif

Me use wiper softener.. and windscreen shampoo (in wiper water tank)...  Buy at kb mall.... Wiper rubber easy to hard as always park under hot sun... Next time will buy silicon wiper...
*
i also wan silicone wipers... eastwest, last time i used WD-40 to clean the windscreen. and then strong detergent to wash the WD-40 off. the wiper still jumps for a few days. after that.. ok liao. but nowadays rain very little.. so not much chance of jumping.. hehe. light rain will still skip a bit.

guys, need ur help a bit. to the cps-ers who are always travelling north of KL to tapah, which is the best route to take to Cameron highlands? is it gopeng exit?

also, most importantly, where are the most common speed trap areas? got any particular location to be careful of the speed below 110kmh?

thanks for the tip Eujinee.its been donkey years since i've been up there. I got no idea how to get there actually..haha..

by the way, regarding the turbo of proton engines, I reckon they would turbo charge the campro normal engine instead of CPS units. i would have thought its easier for them to control the turbo timing with it compared to CPS when the high cam kicks in at 3.8k rpm. its only super noobie opinion coz i dun drive a turbo car and i got no idea how does turbo function other than the Forced induction kicking in at 'high' rpms from 4k onwards. if they do TC (turbo charge) the cps units, it will likely with light boost (dun ask me how much is light boost coz i got no idea). it'll probably be smth u can slight feel on the TC kicks in only. well.. its just my opinion only.
