QUOTE(ncool15 @ Jun 7 2009, 09:33 PM) Yeah I know hence the "Or have we?"Even if its posted on Soccernet.com but not Arse.com I still won't be convinced. Seems that now the only thing preventing the move from being completed is his contract demands. Arsenal agree fee with Ajax but talks over Vermaelen’s personal terms stalled Anyway any defensive signing is welcome for me at the moment IMO. Many people complain about his height but IMO you don't necessarily have to be the tallest to be a good defender. Puyol comes to mind and even Gallas and Toure aren't the tallest of defenders to begin with either. |

regarding the mourinho bid for RvP... i hear crap rumours that VP is refusing to pen in a new due to disagreements over wages, apparently the rumour states that VP is demanding a £90,000 a week... i dunno what to make of this

Ayala,Cannavaro,Cordoba isnt really tall but they are great defenders. Its true that our CB gets bullied in air battle but if we take a closer look on the goals conceeded, half of them are because of lack of concentaration. So if this Vermalen guy can organise the defend well and keep his full concentration on the game,it will be awesome. |

Too much crap from the tabloids.
Stop rehashing the Kolo exit talks... zero quotes whatsoever. He might have requested to leave during Jan (again, how accurate was that remains unknown) but there are no indications now that he will be leaving. In fact, Arsene seems to be bullish about not letting anyone leave. Dzeko.... meh... no news is good news, the more people talk about it, the more unlikely it's going to be. Again, it's only agent talk for now and we all know how agent works. Just say "Arsenal, City, Chelsea, RM, Barca is going for my client", and an instant 10M extra price tag is slapped on. Vermalaen... somewhat similar to Nasri and Andy where one week we have news about his signature, the next week we have news saying he's not here yet. Maybe this is an indication of talks being held but again I'm not surprised if we don't sign him. Even if we sign him I don't think any defender is going to leave with the exception of Sendy, who seems pretty keen on staying at Milan. Robin... I'm not surprised if there are offers for him, but he wants to stay and le Boss wants him to. Contract negotiations are never easy, so it's understandable that it'll take some time. I'm confident that he'll be staying so no worries about that. ![]() Capi, mohawks are not for every one. Seriously. This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Jun 8 2009, 08:55 AM |

QUOTE(joe405 @ Jun 8 2009, 08:27 AM) Kolo Toure To Leave Arsenal For Manchester City In Micah Richards Swap - Report Now this is something I do not want to see happening. Towards the end of last season we have begun to see the "old" Kolo Toure returning. Richards on the other hand seems to have taken a step back and if his reported "poor" attitude is true even the more we should avoid signing him.The Ivorian defender is set for a switch to Eastlands, it seems... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Source: Goal.com/en |

i hope that rumour is a crap one, that toure swap thing. i value him as an essential part of the team, and i really dont want important players like him to leave the emirates. getting vermaelen is a good news, but the swap deal... i have mixed feelings about that. tho i'm pretty certain wenger wont let that happen too

I doubt Toure going leave unless City splash high amount of money with good wages and give him crazy promises after what Toure said about the team needs to stick together and those stuff

This Toure-Micah + cash deal really raise some eyebrows
If I were Toure, I will stay with Arsenal for at least another season since we have ECL qualification From fans POV, Toure should stay because players of his attributes and experience are much needed in the team. On Micah, EVERYONE seems to rate him highly. I don't mind him coming in but with this Vermaelen is also coming (speculation), do you REALLY think we need so many defenders at once? Lastly, IS ANYONE GOING TO SEE AW TOMORROW? PM ME! I'm taking a day off to see AW's face - wondering if it worth my leave or not |
